Dates Changed for 2010 SWRHA Futurity and Horse Show
The Southwest Reining Horse Association has announced that the dates for the prestigious SWRHA Futurity and Horse Show have been changed for 2010. "Due to a scheduling conflict with the Hardy Murphy Coliseum, the dates for our 2010 event had to be moved," SWRHA President Jack Covington noted.
The Futurity and Horse Show were originally slated for October 19-24, but will now be held one week later, beginning October 26 and concluding October 31.

Reining News!
McQuay's Reiners returned home on August 8 from the North Central Reining Horse Association Futurity in St. Paul, Minnesota, where everyone had a good time and brought home some paychecks. After the journey home, Tim and the reining team began preparing for the Ariat Classic in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they will be showing the first week of September. Good luck in Tulsa, reiners!
Tim and Marco are headed to the World Equestrian Games! Tim will be showing Dave and Bonnie Silva's great young stallion Hollywooodstinseltown, by Hollywood Dun It and out of their mare, Miss Tinseltown. Having shown both parents of Dave (Hollywoodstinseltown) makes this opportunity even more special for Tim.
 Marco is currently on the short list for Team Italy with Lyle Lovett's Smart and Shiney by Smart Shiner. "Hi Beam" as he is affectionally known has a career earnings of $102,085. He is a beautiful 7 yr old, who is great minded and has a big heart. He is a favorite at the farm as well as with all the visitors! Hi Beam's colts are now 2 years old and are training well, showing his valued style and characteristics. Look for Hi Beam on the cover of the SmartPak brochures and see his amazing stopping style! Best of luck to both teams!

 Hunter/Jumper News!
McQuay's Hunter/Jumpers recently returned from a four week circuit in Kentucky, with Sam Sloun having earned a championship in Pre-Green and He Hoto Bud (Boomer) as the Reserve Champion in Special Hunter. We were excited to have them return home on August 23, 2010. We were very happy to have Lorraine Wade and Bernadette and Meredith Mulliken training at McQuay's for some time in July. Bernadette was very successful earning good ribbons in the Amateur Owners on Russian Hill and winning on Undeniable in the 3'3" Amateur Owners! Congratulations to them for their success in Kentucky!
McQuay Stables also enjoyed Susan Nelson and Molly Bierworth joining us to train and show in Kentucky, and we look forward to more shows together in the future. Susan is a great rider and horseman, with her two children, Molly and Nelson, following in her footsteps!
Colleen and the hunter/jumper team will also be leaving for Britt McCormick's show and the USHJA Hunter Derby at the Brunson's Texas Rose Horse Park in Tyler, TX on August 30, 2010. We wish them a safe journey and the best of luck in Tyler!

2010 Legacy Reining Breeders Sale
The annual Legacy Reining Breeders Sale is only two months away! Make plans now to attend the sale on October 16, 2010 at Green Valley Ranch in Aubrey, TX.
The sale will start at 1:00 p.m. at Green Valley Ranch on Saturday, October 16, and sale horses will be available for viewing starting Friday, October 15.
