May 1-June 30: "Reflections" Art Exhibit by Luke Andrews

A regular exhibitor in art galleries in Italy and throughout Europe, Luke has had his paintings exhibited in the Orlando Mayor's Gallery at City Hall and the Orlando Museum of Art, among other U.S. venues. Best known for his vibrant cityscapes, figures and sculpted canvases, Luke's medium of choice is acrylic paint on canvas.  Exhibit "Reflections" will be on display at Highlands Museum of the Arts (MoTA) though June 30.  Please stop by MoTA, which is open from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday.  Group tours & special viewings by appointment.

 

May 1, 6, 7, 15, 27, 28 & 29: Art Uncorked

Art Uncorked is an art experience in a social setting, with wine and friends and great with mom.  Your instructor leads the class through an acrylic or watercolor painting during this 6:00 PM class.  Have fun at this step-by-step painting process and leave with one complete project!

May 8: Second Friday Yappy Hour

May 8: Downtown Sebring Sip & Shop

Join us in historic Downtown Sebring for the Downtown Sebring Business Alliance (DSBA) Sip & Shop from 5:00-8:00 PM.   Moms receive a free wristband for this event with a starting point at Frames & Images.  Wrist bands are $5 for non-mothers and includes appetizers and samples at all participating businesses, a discount card good for the entire month of May and a chance to win a painting.Art demos and raffle. May 8: Artist Reception at the Highlands Art League's Yellow House

Join the Art League's Yellow House artists for their monthly 2nd Friday reception honoring the Art League's instructors for Teacher Appreciation Month from 5-8 PM.

May 9: Saturday Night Cruise

Celebrate antique cars the second Saturday of each month from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Cruisers come from near and far to Sebring's Downtown Circle to see classic cars, listen to live entertainment and enjoy delicious food.

May 9: Make It With Me Art Class "Sprinkled With Love"

Please join us at 10:00 am for a Mother's Day special edition of our Make It With Me classes for kids of all ages (recommended 4+).  Mom (or grandma, aunt, etc) will paint an 11�14 canvas featuring a watering can.  The child(ren) will paint a smaller canvas featuring flowers. (Two small canvases will be provided for 1-2 kid(s). All supplies provided.

May 10: Art "No" Cork Mother's Day Special "Daisy Bouquet"

All ages can make memories and art with mom on Mother's Day at this 2:00 PM class.  Your instructor leads the class step-by-step through an acrylic painting.  Recommended ages 10+.  Those 21+ are welcome to bring your own wine.

March 12: Art No Cork "Western Cross" (Ages 12+)

These classes are specifically marked "All Ages" in the registration section below. Due to the fact that all ages are invited to participate in these classes, wine will NOT be provided. We will have non-alcoholic beverages and those 21+ are welcome to bring your own wine. One completed painting when you leave.

May 18: International Museum Day Celebration

Stop by the Highlands Museum of the Arts (MoTA) on Monday, May 18 from 10AM - 6PM for International Museum Day.  Enjoy refreshments, free admission for everyone and view the Luke Andrews "Reflections' Art exhibit on display through June 30. Each year, International Museum Day gathers more museums from all around the world. In 2013, 35,000 museums from 143 countries on 5 continents participated.

Downtown Sebring Voted Best Shopping District; Earns 40+ Readers Choice Awards


 

The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is pleased to announce that Downtown Sebring was recently voted the Best Shopping District by the News Sun's Reader's Choice Awards.  In addition, Downtown Sebring businesses and organizations earned more than 40 awards at the recent News Sun Readers Choice Awards Banquet held on April 16.  The awards were given in various categories and voted on by local and visiting readers.  The Downtown Sebring winners are as follows:

Downtown Sebring Extends People's Choice Online Voting 

 

The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is extending the People's Choice Online Sculpture voting to June 30.  Residents and visitors can vote for their favorite outdoor sculpture at www.DowntownSebring.org.  As of current vote counts, Stargazer is the most popular followed closely by Meteor.  These sculptures will be on exhibit in Downtown Sebring through February 2016.


The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is pleased to be participating in the
Annual Florida Outdoor Sculpture Competition for the second year.  The competition is hosted each year by the Polk Museum of Art (PMoA) as nearly 50 pieces of outdoor sculptures are submitted for exhibit consideration in Lakeland and Winter Haven, in addition to Sebring.  The Sebring CRA expanded its participation in the exhibition this year by hosting nine sculptures from six states that were installed in Downtown Sebring by March 9.  The exhibition will run through February 2016.   

Any artist is welcome to submit sculptures for next year via the Polk Museum of Art. 

Mum's the Word in Downtown Sebring
