Power Thought: Katherine Eitel and Associates How to Leave a Legacy Like Princess Di A few weeks ago, a good friend took me to see the Princess Di exhibit in Grand Rapids, MI. It seemed like a nice enough way to spend an afternoon. I was never a rabid, voracious Princess Di fan like some friends I had who eagerly followed her every move in the tabloids more than a decade ago. Because of that, I was able to miss most of the hype and sensationalism about her life but, after seeing this exhibit, I realize I also missed the extent of the amazing legacy of kindness and love she left on this world. Exceptionally well-done, the Princess Di exhibit was a true example of connection, honesty, balance, and sensitivity. With very little, if any, reference to the Queen, Camelia Bowles, or even Prince Charles for that matter. The exhibit focused on Diana Spencer, the girl, the woman, the mother, the humanitarian, the embattled public figure, and the private world citizen. I was completely pulled in to the intriguing life of this shy yet passionate young woman and to the brave legacy she left with her untimely death. Besides marveling at the 25-foot satin train on that unforgettable wedding dress and being moved by the perfection of her brother's brief but brave and poignant eulogy, two things struck me as worth remembering and learning from her life: - Like Nelson Mandella, Leo Buscalia, and Morgan Freeman, Princess Di had a singular focus when she turned her attention toward someone. She was totally present with that person, in that moment. Even if it was brief, as it often was, you could see in photograph after photograph and video clip after video clip, that when she leveled her gaze upon someone and decided to interact with them, they felt her quiet but immensely powerful presence. This continues to be a skill and an intention I strive to improve because it feels so good to receive from another person.
- Secondly, she reminded me that love, tolerance, and acceptance are gifts that leave an unmistakable trail in our lives and on our world when we have the courage to give them, even when others will not. She was known as the Princess of the Untouchables. Lepers, AIDs sufferers, disfigured mine victims, lonely elders were among the many untouchables she not only lovingly touched but elevated by truly seeing them for who they really were... fellow human beings. It's so easy for us to look away, shy away, feel uncomfortable, or just not want to bother and I find I often miss opportunities to really connect and include those who are different from us in their outward appearance or circumstance.
This week, you'll interact with dozens, if not hundreds of people in your life and work. Each one is an opportunity. We do not need to be a member of the royal family, famous, or wealthy to leave a distinct and meaningful legacy on our world. True presence, tolerance, and acceptance for the people with whom we come in contact with would be enough to do it in a very profound way. More about Katherine Eitel and Associates...

Why the Web? Reason #192 Tracking Technical Support Tickets on the Cloud is More Transparent
One aspect of dental software that is universal is sometimes the software doesn't do what you expected. When this happens you call the company's technical support team and seek help. That's true for all dental software applications. But that's where the similarities end.
With old fashioned client-server software you're pretty much at the mercy of the company's support team to keep you appraised of progress in solving your issue. You may have to call back to get an update. And calling back usually means waiting on hold and wasting your valuable time. And when you do get to talk to somebody, they may not even be a native English speaking technician!
With the cloud, the experience is much different. After your phone call all of the details of your case, including the status and any notes of progress, can be viewed on-line. Specific to Curve Dental, the management software and the support tracking software are set side by side, so checking on progress is quick and easy. You'll be able to see the current status and every note by the technicians assigned to your case.
Placing the tickets online with easy access provides much more transparency to the case. Unlike other companies, were we to try and get rid of a case we don't like... well, we can't hide anything from our customers. We would never do that anyway, because at Curve Dental every customer is a VIP customer. Want to learn more? Chat with one of our dental software experts at 888-910-4376. Ask about our Google Nexus 7 tablet giveaway for doctors who make the switch by March 28, 2014. |

Hosted by Dental Software Expert and Consultant, Macey Bernards.
|
When weather strikes and keeps you and your patients fromthe office your production numbers take a horrible hit. While you can't control the weather you can certainly plan on rescheduling those missed appointments as quickly as possible. The sooner you can reschedule appointments the more likely you are to keep the production you had prior to the storm.
But it is extremely difficult to rebook appointments when patient information is sitting on a server in your office. And hopefully nothing will happen to your server!
Accessibility is the word of the day. And the cloud is how you pronounce it.
In this fun, short webinar, dental software consultant, Macey Bernards, will show you how bad weather can bring a practice to its knees and then explain how the cloud can help your practice even when your office is inaccessible.
Attendees will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card as well as other door prizes. Register today by clicking on one of the date boxes below: |
