Why the Web?
Reason #161
|
Always Up to Date. Never Out of Date.
In the old world of client-server software keeping your dental software up to date is a major pain. Your software company will send you a box with a CD or two enclosed and expect you to do all the heavy lifting.
"With my prior software upgrades was a major event at my practice," says Mark Hyman, DDS who recently moved his practice to the cloud. "We had to plan for upgrades. It usually involved the assistance of my IT vendor. If it went well we were able to limp along until all the bugs had been worked out. If it went bad we'd lose production."
That's not the case with web-based dental software, like Curve Dental. New features and enhancements are being added to the software frequently, sometimes on a daily basis. Using a process called Continuous Delivery we are able to deploy changes to the software without interrupting our customers' work. In other words, our customers usually don't have to exit the program for us to upgrade the software. Our job is to keep the software relevant to our customers' needs. We don't want our work to interrupt them.
And speaking of keeping things up to date, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD lets you access more than 23 million books, movies, magazines, and more. It's yours, with our compliments, when you make the switch to Curve Dental. Click Here or call 888-910-4376 for details. Offer ends July 26, 2013. | |

Double Your Practice by Nurturing Your Existing Patient Family
| |
Power Thought: Jameson Management
In the majority of today's dental practices, fabulous opportunities lie
withinthe walls of those practices. Most dental practices can double the amount of dentistry presently being provided by nurturing that which they already have: their existing patient family.
The most crucial marketing strategy-the one at which practice growth and stability begin and end-is to have a well-managed practice. Perhaps the most critical of these management strategies is the system of case acceptance. Case acceptance is the fulcrum of your practice: diagnosis, treatment planning, case presentation and follow up. Knowing how to do the dentistry is essential. However, knowing it, and getting to do it are sometimes two separate things!!
Most practices can double from within! Upon careful analysis, most practices have more dentistry sitting in the charts waiting to be done than they have ever provided! Getting the dentistry out of the charts and into the mouths is critical for practice growth. In addition, it costs less to nurture an existing client than it does to access a new one. So, combine those two pieces of information. Develop a business plan that accomplishes the following: (1) doubles the practice by nurturing your own patient family, and (2) does this in a cost effective manner.

Are Your Patients Falling Through the Recare Cracks?
|
 | | Jan Keller |
|
Power Thought: Jan Keller and Associates
Are you ignoring a revenue source that is quite literally in front of your nose? The truth is that many practices leave tens of thousands of dollars "on the shelf" when they don't put a recare program in place that identifies patients who have delayed treatment, and then put a system in place to monitor them. If you have unfilled chair time, this could be an easy - and rewarding - exercise for your practice.
Investigate new income opportunities
When times are good and chairs are filled, it's easy to forget there are a multitude of opportunities to generate income you may not have considered. One dentist we know of in Rhode Island is now earning a significant new stream of income from treating sleep apnea, which not only presents revenue from a clinical standpoint, but also from the need for sleep apnea appliances like snore guards. Is there a similar clinical need you could be training for, and fulfilling, in your practice?
Special support for new dentists
For those doctors who are not far out of dental school, and may be panicking at the thought of servicing student loans, equipment loans, leases, etc, verbal skills and confidence are key, especially during the new patient exam. Having the "right stuff" here is crucial to leading patients to "yes".
