Printing from Curve Hero: A Simple Right-Click Affair
|
Perhaps the biggest news of the month is the ability to print any image with a simple right-click of the mouse. Let's be honest and acknowledge that printing images from Curve Hero was a rock-in-the-shoe type of thing for far too long; we're very happy to have made this task easier. You can print any image by simply right-clicking anywhere on the image, anywhere within Curve Image, such as:
- Recently acquired images in Starting Point of Image
- Image thumbnails in the Imaging Gallery
- Individual images in the Viewer
- Images in the mount slot
- Images in full-screen mode
- Associated images in Planning or Historical Charting
When you print an image, the printed document will include the image (of course!) and patient information (such as the patient's first and last name, date of birth, site name and address, default provider, date the image was taken, and associated teeth numbers if they are assigned). One or two Curve Hero fans have cheered this latest accomplishment but have asked us to go one step farther. The suggestion has been made to be able to print an FMX or bite wing mount with just a simple right-click. That would definitely save oodles of time and we've added it to our list.

Payment Tables and TWAIN Integration on the Horizon for Curve Hero
|
By Megan BoydProduct ManagerOur customers will see three new exciting changes to Curve Hero that will be released just as soon as they complete final testing. Let me tell you more: ScanX Integration
We are now beta testing ScanX integration with one of our customers. Setup and installation was a breeze, and the images are capturing into Hero simply and easily. We will continue with this single beta tester for a little while longer, just to make sure there are no major issues. If you're interested in being a beta for ScanX please contact me via email or Kristen Smith, our customer services manager, via email . Payment Tables
Our project for Payment Tables will soon start the testing phase. This project allows an office to set up a table for insurance payments for each line item and for each insurance plan. You will also be able to update the payment table when making an insurance payment, which will keep the table updated. Progress in this area is moving Hero step by step to providing the best insurance estimate possible. TWAIN Integration
We are making progress in completing a new TWAIN integration. We released a few changes to the Imaging module that were per-requisites for the integration. Now, in the final stages of testing, we hope to release TWAIN integration into the beta phase by the end of July.

Customer Service Expert Spotlight: Eric Taylor
|
By Kristen SmithCustomer Service ManagerEvery month I have the opportunity to personally introduce one of our customer service experts to our customers. This month, Eric Taylor is on the top of my list. | |
Eric Taylor, Customer Service Expert
|
Eric has been with Curve Dental for just over two years. He is our go-to guy when it comes to digital imaging. He's gone the extra mile in mastering the details in this area, which has been a significant benefit to the team. Of course, Eric is also a master of Curve Hero. He provides great customer service and is one that will dig deep to find the root cause of an issue. He simply has superb troubleshooting skills. I hear from many our customers that they enjoy speaking with Eric. That's because he's easy going and works calmly, regardless of how stressful things might be at the time. We're very fortunate to have him as a member of Team Orange.

The number of customers who have registered for the Orange Summit is in the double digits! We're certainly encouraged by the interest in our first-ever customer conference. We recently updated the agenda. As an attendee you'll receive nine hours of instruction (three each day) plus plenty of opportunity to shoot the bull with CEO Ian Zipursky and Director of Development Steven Hines, among others. Please visit the official registration page to see the agenda. If you are serious about attending we suggest you reserve a room at the Red Cliffs Lodge at your earliest convenience.

A Message from the Big Cheese
Continuous Delivery Provides New Features and Enhancements All the Time
|
 | | Ian Zipursky, CEO |
In our last newsletter, Steven Hines, our Director of Engineering, shared with you his excitement about Continuous Delivery. Continuous Delivery allows us to push new enhancements to you during the middle of the day, as you are using Hero, without any disruption-a fairly significant achievement! To put this in context, traditional client server companies will release an upgrade maybe once every 18 months or once per year (and a highly disruptive event). Many web companies will aim for smaller releases on a monthly schedule but we are making improvements to our software almost daily!
In fact, since our last newsletter, we have released 15 unique feature upgrades to Hero, plus dozens of 'behind the scenes' architectural improvements that may not be visually evident to you but each one makes the engine run just a little smoother.
Some of the feature upgrades have been smaller improvements, such as displaying billing transactions sequentially, while others represent significant feature enhancements, the new bank deposit report and mobile web app as two examples. We believe the result of these rapid releases is an ever-improving user experience.
We will continue to push the core feature set forward this summer and into the fall with many more highly requested improvements. As a sneak preview, you will also start hearing much more from us about native patient communication and portal features. These have consistently been at the top of the list of new feature requests. We are hard at work to deliver software that will help connect you and your patients much more closely. Watch for many more updates as the summer progresses.
On behalf of everyone at Curve, I offer my sincere thanks for being a part of Team Orange. We truly value your business and hope to see you at our Orange Summit in Moab in October.

Live Deploy: A Behind-the-Scenes Look
|
By Steven Hines Director of Development
 | | Steven Hines, Director of Development |
Since our last newsletter we've been pushing ahead with our continuous delivery effort and are pleased and surprised by the positive results. Deploying code to a live and running web application can be tricky, but we have honed our deployment skills to such a degree that we can now run multiple deployments in a day quickly and efficiently. The only effects noticed by our clients are the new features as they appear in the application. Due to our efforts we are in the enviable position of being able to "live deploy" a very high percentage of our code changes. We are also able to ship in volume too; we currently have capacity to deploy up to eight live changes per day but work is underway to double that number within the next few months.
What that means to our customers is this: If you see something strange in Hero the chances are we've already begun the rollback process before you've picked up the phone to speak with one of our support technicians! But please keep calling us with comments and observations. And thank you for choosing Curve Dental.
