Curve Goes Mobile
|
The practice of dentistry is not a 9-to-5 job. It's a profession. It's not something you leave at the office. Your patients are going to call on off hours. And when they call you'll want access to some pretty basic information. We got you covered. With the announcement of new mobility technology now in beta testing, Curve customers can use their Apple or Android smartphones to access patient contact information and the practice schedule when away from the office. "The web has expanded our expectations when it comes to accessing data," says Ian Zipursky, President and CEO of Curve Dental. "With a smartphone we use the web to get driving directions, find the nearest Starbucks, or read movie reviews. Now, you can also view patient information and check your patient schedule using your smartphone." At the present time the mobility features are limited to patient information and the practice schedule. As the year progresses Curve will be adding features, such as access to patient images, as an example. There is plenty of room and plenty of imagination to keep us busy in this area. Even more exciting is the lack of a price; access is part of the customer's monthly subscription fee. You don't pay extra for an extremely valuable feature. The mobility features enter final beta testing at the end of the month. You can read the full press release or visit our website to learn more.

Our customers can now use an iPad or Android tablet to gather patient data, such as medical history or insurance information. This neat little feature, called Storyline, lets you create a custom form in Curve Hero. Then, when your customers come to your practice, they can complete the form using a tablet. Reaching Nirvana with an Improved Coverage Table

With Curve Hero 4.17 we've modified the coverage tables so that individual procedure codes, subcategories, and main categories of procedure codes can be set individually. You can read more about how the coverage table works by clicking here. The next item on our list of insurance management features to add is a robust payment table. (See below for more information.)

Payment Tables, Bank Deposits, and TWAIN Integration on the Curve Horizon
|
By Megan Boyd
Curve Dental Product Manager
Three exciting projects should be completed soon. Let me take a moment to tell you about each one: Payment Tables
Since last Fall we've been very focused on overhauling and supercharging the insurance management tools in Curve Hero. Just recently we added coverage tables to help our customers provide more automated payment estimates to their patients. Soon, we will be adding payment tables to Curve Hero, which will help make the insurance payment estimate more accurate. As a result, the patient portion of the bill will also be more accurate. Bank Deposits
Our customers have been asking for a redo of the existing bank deposit slip found in Curve Hero. Good news: we're almost done! The new bank deposit provides all the information the bank requires when you make a deposit at the end of the day. We've asked for input from a few of our customers to make sure we included all the information that may be required. We think you'll really like the end result. TWAIN Integration (for US practices)
One of the items on our customers' wish list is being able to use nearly any imaging device to capture images directly to the cloud using Curve Hero. Imagine being able to plug and play any TWAIN compatible camera, pan, scanner, phosphor plate scanner, or what have you with Curve Hero. TWAIN integration is on the wish list because it provide a great deal of convenience and increases efficiencies. The challenge to this project has been writing code that is flexible to the needs of hundreds of different devices and then being able to secure the most popular devices for testing. You'd be surprised by how difficult it has been to persuade manufacturers to provide their devices for testing. The good news is that we have made significant progress and are very close to the beta testing phase. With a little luck we may be able to start beta testing our new TWAIN integration capabilities later this month. If you have ideas or comments that you'd like to share send me a note via e-mail at megan.boyd@curvedental.com today.

TEAM ORANGE SPOTLIGHT
Lisa Baird, Customer Service Expert
|
 | | Lisa Baird |
Delivering service with a smile is not a cliche for Curve Customer Service Expert Lisa Baird. Her laughter often carries through the office and among her peers as she provides whatever assistance our customers need. "Lisa has been a member of Team Orange for nearly four years," says Customer Service Manager, Kristen Smith. "Whenever I hear her laughing with a customer it's very catching and full of energy. It really puts a smile on my face. Lisa works to build a personal relationship with every customer and I think our customers love her for that extra effort." The most interesting thing about Lisa is that she's a grandmother and about to graduate with her bachelor's degree. She has dental experience as an office manager for both a general practitioner and a prosthodontist. "I enjoy working with our customers," says Lisa. "Recently I helped one of our customers work through some security concerns she had. Once we had a chance to talk and for me to share some how to's she seemed really happy after that, which then makes me feel pretty happy." When you call Curve Dental for technical assistance, chances are you may just find yourself speaking with Lisa. Be sure to say "hi" and share a good laugh.
