Oakcliff Sailing
Acorn & Sapling Programs 50% Full
Apply Now
February 17 2014
The Acorn and Saplings programs are about 50% full with early acceptance.  That means we still have openings.  I can't say strongly enough, if you know of someone who has potential to do great things in sailing please reach out to them and have them apply.  Any questions can be directed to Coach Jay Kehoe.  To be clear we are looking for a wide variety of people with one thing in common:  They want to get better.  Don't feel like you have to be a Collegiate All American to apply.  Short handed, offshore, boat building, match racing, whatever your interest we have a program to match.

Meanwhile, everyone is pushing snow out of the way and we are gearing up for summer with some pretty cool events.  Read on and get your clicking fingers ready to sign up and learn and enjoy.

Art Show March 1st - Hoping for Spring
Most of you should have received an invitation to the Art Show on March 1st.  We are hoping that the snow will have gone away and the flowers will be pushing up and we'll have a relaxed, social, lovely afternoon enjoying the art of Betsy Lawrence, Frank Olt, Sue DiSanti, Kirk Larsen among others. RSVP HERE
Dave Perry is Calling All Racers - Like ALL
Dave Perry will be at Oakcliff March 9 for a very energetic day of learning.  He will be covering match racing from 101 up to moves at the top mark.  This year in particular he is focusing on situations that will also help fleet racers.  Think of it as Cross-Training for your team.  We do have a limited number of spots and his seminars often sell out so reserve your spot now.
North U-Trim Seminar
Following right on the heels of Dave will be North U Trim Seminar. On Sunday March 16th, Bill Gladstone will once again lead this ever popular seminar.  As I have joked before - sign up to get yourself a little trim...ing skills.

Classic sailors bring your gaff placement questions, skiff sailors your vang questions.  Let's see if we can keep Bill on his toes!
Short and sweet: We look forward to seeing you at Oakcliff as we gear up for spring but most importantly please push the 'young ones' to get their applications in.  This snow WILL melt before we know it and we don't want any talented motivated sailors to miss out.  Sometimes they just need a nudge to get them started :-)

Sincerely,

Dawn
