Bishop Watterson Wednesday News
May 11, 2016

Dear Parents,

mary During the month of May let us continue to pray to our Blessed Mother for her assistance and her grace.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women, and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.   Amen.

Have a great week.

Sincerely,
Marian Hutson
Principal

Course Failure Policy and Summer School
Course Failure Policy and Summer School: The Bishop Watterson failure policy states that students in all grades must make up all failures in core courses during the summer. Refer to the student handbook for a list of required subjects by grade level. Students failing more than two core courses are subject to academic dismissal. Continue to monitor your son's or daughter's brainhoney account and specifically look up the 4th quarter grade in each class. If there is a possibility that your son or daughter may not pass a class, please first refer to the summer school section of Bishop Watterson's website and then start your research of summer school course options.

Eligibility for Participation in Fall Activities

A student must achieve a minimum 1.0 GPA in a given quarter in order to participate in co-curricular activities. A student falling below the 1.0 GPA in a given quarter will be ineligible to participate in co-curricular activities during the following quarter. This means that any student who fails two or more subjects fourth quarter will not be able to participate in FALL athletic or co-curricular activities regardless of whether or not the student passes the course for the year.

For the 2016-2017 school year, the customary week off during the spring will NOT coincide with the week following Easter. Instead of having an Easter break, we will now have the following days off:

Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday (April 13-17, 2017)

Spring Break during the week of March 27-31, 2017

By providing this information now, we hope to assist parents to plan vacations accordingly with these dates in mind. Keep in mind that it is more difficult for your children and our staff if you stretch your breaks by taking your children out of school before the break actually begins.
