Alumni prepare meals at St. Lawrence Haven
|
|
The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of each month. We prepare and package meals for the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program. The Haven sits behind Holy Family Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300-500 meals are served each day. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide and we are very thankful for the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules to help with this service endeavor.

Did you kno w that you can support the Annual Eagle Fund by donating appreciated stock to Bishop Watterson? This type of donation can help you avoid paying capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the stock, and may also provide you with a tax deduction based on the value at the time of donation.
This is a great way to help the school reach our goal of $300,000. We are asking that all Bishop Watterson families, alumni and friends prayerfully consider a gift to the Annual Eagle Fund so that we can "Soar to New Heights!"

Bishop Watterson's curriculum encompasses both depth and breadth to enable our students to discover the strengths and talents God gave them.
Business Electives
Our business department offers 10 courses, from Accounting to Innovation and Entrepreneurship with AP courses offered in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. In addition, the Advanced Marketing and Innovation and Entrepreneurship class curriculums include practical experience running the Eagle Store. In our newest business class, Real Estate and Finance, students conduct an analysis of current needs within the marketplace and explore financial considerations as well as plan and design an actual real estate project!
Computer Science Electives
BWHS offers seven courses in this department, including Web Design, AP Computer Science, Honors JAVA, Computer Applications, Computer Programming and Independent Study in Software Applications/Programming. This semester two students are doing an Independent Study in Computer Engineering, utilizing our new 3-D printer.
