A new scholarship was named after retired theology teacher and student mentor Jane Jacquemin-Clarke and announced at a recent Mass. The scholarship, named after Mrs. J-C, was initiated by the Guertin family who expressed gratitude for the care and kindness Mrs. J-C showed toward their daughter, Kate '12 when she was a student at BWHS. More information about this scholarship will be available in February. For a list of other BWHS scholarships, click here.

Did You Know?
Our average class size is 22. Class sizes for the fall 2015 semester ranged from one student in an independent study course to 58 students in band and 43 in the concert choir class.
Student-teacher ratio is a statistic that has been getting attention for many years. The assumption around this ratio: the smaller the ratio, the better the school.
When we determine our ratio, we include every staff member who teaches classes or works directly with students to help them achieve their academic goals, such as guidance or intervention staff. Using this criteria, Bishop Watterson's student-teacher ratio is 12:1.
The average number of years of experience of our 87-member teaching staff is 20.
ACT Research has shown that it is the rigor of coursework - rather than simply the number of core courses - that has the greatest impact on ACT performance and college readiness. A look at ACT scores shows that Bishop Watterson students are well prepared for college-level work. A five-year summary shows that BWHS student ACT scores in each of the four categories (English, Mathematics, Reading, Science) are above the ACT college readiness benchmark scores. In addition, our school's composite average over the past five years is well above the average for the State of Ohio.
