Year of Mercy Starts December 8

As a community, Bishop Watterson will be focusing on the Jubilee Year of Mercy from December 8, 2015 through November 20, 2016, as declared by Pope Francis. We invite our families to join us in seeking to live out the Pope's call to become more merciful in our own lives and to bring God's mercy to others.
The Popes calls us to several specific actions, including: steeping ourselves in the Word of God, regularly participating in the Sacrament of Confession, and participating in the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.

Each month we will be focusing on a specific action of mercy and witnessing how we have encountered God's mercy in our lives.  In December we are collecting food and toiletries for several organizations who help those in need.  We invite participation in this project from every family. In addition, we seek to accept the Pope's call to help those in need when we encounter them.  Sometimes we may want to turn away when we encounter someone in need, the Pope reminds us that in doing so, we are turning away from Christ himself. To be merciful means to stand with another in their need. Through our solidarity, we can become more humble and compassionate.
To share a witness story of God's mercy, extended or received, please email bsimmond@cdeducation.org.  Stories will be shared anonymously.

Diocesan Calendar Changes for 2016-17

calendar
As the Diocese of Columbus Office of Catholic Schools sets the framework for school calendars each year. We wanted to let you know about key dates and a significant change for the 2016-17 school year.

Key Dates
First Day: Wednesday, August 24, 2016
Last Day: Thursday, June 1, 2017

For the 2016-2017 school year, the customary week off during the spring will NOT coincide with the week following Easter. Instead of having an Easter break, we will now have the following days off:

Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday (April 13-17, 2017)

Spring Break during the week of March 27-31, 2017

By providing this information now, we hope to assist parents to plan vacations accordingly with these dates in mind. Keep in mind that it is more difficult for your children and our staff if you stretch your breaks by taking your children out of school before the break actually begins.
Service Calendar

Check out the service calendar link here for opportunities. Christmas is a time of plentiful service opportunities and with National Honor Society hours due in early 2016, we recommend you check this calendar now!
