Although we celebrate "Thanksgiving Day" once a year, the act of thanksgiving towards God should not be limited to that one day. Let us be grateful for the many blessings God has bestowed upon us every day of the year and show our gratitude through prayer and kind acts to everyone.

With today a collegiate athletics signing day, we wanted to share the statistic that 24 members of the BWHS Class of 2015 went on to play college sports.

Open House This Sunday!
Do you have friends or family currently considering which high school their children will attend?
Your testimony to family and friends about your personal experience or your children's experience at Bishop Watterson can make a difference! You know firsthand how Bishop Watterson prepares our students to live the Gospel message of Jesus Christ beyond high school, through our focus on faith, academics, service, athletics and co-curricular activities. Our current parents, past parents and alums are uniquely qualified to speak for Bishop Watterson and be a witness to why we say Christ is the reason for our school.
So please invite those considering the high school decision to visit our annual Fall Open House for prospective students on Sunday, November 22 from 1:00-3:30 p.m. It is an opportunity to meet faculty, staff and coaches, and to take a guided tour of the Bishop Watterson facilities with a student. Principal Marian Hutson will give a presentation at 2:00 p.m.

Sunday with Santa is December 6!
 Business Club will again host Sunday with Santa at Bishop Watterson with proceeds benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital's Christine Wilson '01 Burn Unit. Cost per child is $5 and includes crafts and a photo with Santa. Business Club will also be holding a bake sale and will be collecting for Operation Shoebox, to send needed items to U.S. troops overseas. For a list of acceptable items, go to Quick Links.
Santa/Christmas Carol Combo Business Club and the Theater Department have combined for a fun afternoon of Christmas activities for younger children. The child's price to attend both Sunday with Santa and A Christmas Carol-A Ghost Story of Christmas, is just $7.

Social Media Tip
Yik Yak ... Yuk!
You may recall a Social Media Tip we shared during the 2014-15 school year about the cell phone app Yik Yak. This app continues to be used to create frightening situations, like the one last week in Washington Courthouse. We recommend parents continue to monitor their children's phones.

Annual Eagle Fund Update
At the two-week mark in our Annual Eagle Fund drive for 2015-16, our current total is $66,673.40. Our goal for this year is $300,000.
We would love 100% participation by everyone in the BWHS community, regardless of the amount.

Use the following as a guide to ensure that you meet the deadlines! If you want your transcript submitted by the following deadlines, use Family Connection to request your transcript to be sent to each college and turn in all supporting materials to your counselor by the following dates:

Scholarships
Seniors: There are two places to look for scholarship information in Family Connection. The first is under links, read the latest posted newsletters for scholarships listed under "College Notes." There is currently scholarship information for The Ohio State University, University of Dayton, University of Notre Dame, Bowling Green State University, just to name a few. The second place to look for local scholarship information
in Family Connection is to first click on "Colleges" then click "Scholarship List." As more scholarship information becomes available, it will be added to Family Connections, so please keep checking.
Free SAT/ACT Practice Test Kaplan will be hosting a free SAT/ACT Combo practice test at Capital University on November 14 at 9:00 AM. Sign up online at kaptest.com/satvact. Space is limited.
ODU Seminar
Ohio Dominican University will be hosting a free financial seminar on November 14 at 10:00 a.m. Professionals from Education First Credit Union will conduct the session. Students will work in interactive teams with ODU students to discuss college loans, debt management, banking security, financial planning, budgeting, and more. Please RSVP to Tiffany Pirwitz at pirwitzt@ohiodominican.edu/. Students who participate in five seminars and write a paper can earn one free ODU college credit for FIN 185. Additional sessions will be held in the spring.

Softball Clinic
 Bishop Watterson's softball program will hold a clinic on November 22 with coaches from the University of Notre Dame. For more information, click here.
Bowling Team  The boys and girls bowling team is looking for players. No experience necessary! Learn a lifetime sport while having fun. Come to a practice and see if it's the right fit for you. We practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays after school at Sawmill Lanes. All matches are after school during the winter with NO weekend competitions. Book of Remembrance
 During the month of November we will be praying for the deceased members of our community. Please email their names to Deacon Frank Iannarino at fiannari@cdeducation.org if you would like their names to be included in our Book of Remembrance. Please encourage your child to write those names in our book too!

Still Time on Tuition Raffle
We have decided to continue the Eagle Auction Tuition Raffle in an effort to sell more tickets.
Tickets are $100 each and tuition credit will be given for the 2015-16 or 2016-17 school year according to the winner's choice.

Time to Re-Enroll
 Re-enrollment for the Kroger Community Rewards program is currently open. As a reminder, Kroger donates money to Bishop Watterson quarterly based on the amount that BWHS-registered users earn in comparison to other participating groups in the community.
