New Service Opportunities Calendar
Our last three graduating classes averaged 26,000 hours outside of their sophomore service projects, proving that Bishop Watterson students want to give time and energy volunteering in their communities! With that in mind, Service Director Karissa Bowman has created a Google calendar which lists upcoming service opportunities for organizations with which BWHS works.

He will speak to the Joint Session of Congress in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, September 24 th and he will address the United Nations in New York City, Friday, September 25th. Finally, he will bring to a conclusion the World Meeting of Families being held in Philadelphia, September 26 and 27. The theme is "Love is Our Mission." Our own Deacon Frank Iannarino will be distributing communion at the Mass in Philadelphia on Sunday and Kristyn Hartman of 10TV will also be there and checking in with Deacon. Mary Undoer of Knots
Pope Francis' favorite prayer is Mary Undoer of Knots. With that in mind, the Christian Leadership Class has invited the school to fill the wooden cross with knots. Students and staff can write a prayer intention on scraps of fabric, knot it and put it in the cross. If you are in the building this week and would like to put knots in the cross, it can be found in the chapel lobby. Join us in praying to Mary Undoer of Knots!

SEEKING HOST FAMILIES FOR FRENCH EXCHANGE
Did you miss out on the opportunity to host an Italian exchange student this month? Well, you're in luck. There is a French exchange program in February.
Why not host an exchange student from Watterson's sister-school in France in your home for two weeks this February? There is no fee to do so and the benefits for your child/children are immense. The French students are fully chaperoned by teachers from our sister-school, Institution St. Joseph in Le Havre in Normandy. Plus, NO FRENCH is necessary. In fact, we are actively seeking non-French students to take part in the program.
During the two weeks, your exchange student will accompany your Watterson student to school and will either go to school with him/her or go on day trips to various cultural, historical, scientific or governmental sights in Central Ohio. Your Watterson student may go on the trips too (two maximum) if he/she wants. Your only responsibility is to provide a home, transportation to/from school (and occasionally evening activities), meals and sack lunches. Finally, should you wish, your Watterson student can return the visit to France this June - at an approximate cost of around $2,000.00 for two full weeks.
So, why not? We need nearly 30 host families from February 6 - February 20, 2016 (dates subject to change) and could certainly use your help. We're especially looking for hosts for boys. Contact Jim Dury at jdury@cdeducation.org or 268.8671 (324) for more information or to sign up.
Merci!
