Note About Our Emails
We occasionally get calls from parents who have stopped receiving our Watterson Wednesday News.
The issue usually is:
1. The email service has pushed the BWHS emails into a spam or promotions file; or
2. The email address opted out of receiving our emails. This can happen when someone accidentally clicks on "Safe Unsubscribe" at the bottom of an email. When this happens only the owner of that email address can opt back into our e-distribution list. To do this, go to the bottom of our home page to "Principal's Corner" and click on Watterson Wednesday News Signup.
If you experience this issue during the school year, please try the above suggestion and if the problem still is not solved, feel free to call the office.

At the Gift Gathering Party, donated items will be collected for the upcoming Eagle Auction, our school's largest fundraiser!
The BWHS Gift Gathering Party's goal is to collect items for the silent auction portion of the Eagle Auction. Suggested items: gift cards, sports items or tickets, concert or theatre tickets, spa packages,
Watterson wear, home decorating items, designer purses, jewelry, college gear, religious items, homemade items, etc. Remember, no donation is too small as it may be combined with other items to create larger packages for the silent auction.

OHSAA Required Meeting
Each student athlete and at least one parent is required to attend a MANDATORY OHSAA meeting prior to their first competition season. If you missed last weekend's meeting, there is only ONE make-up meeting for fall athletes: Sunday, August 30 at 4:00 pm Winter - November 8 - 4:00 pm Spring - March 6 - 4:00 pm
|
BWAA Volunteer Requirement Clarification
Each family is required to work one BWAA concession stand event. Each team has been assigned to cover different concession stand events and you must pick an event that corresponds to your student athlete(s) team which they participate.
Example: I have a daughter that plays field hockey and a son that plays basketball. I log on to the volunteer site and notice all the field hockey event slots are filled. I then must volunteer for a boy's basketball team assigned event.
So please visit www.bwhsvolunteers.com and sign up for an event today. Many spring sports have fall concession stand events to cover. If you have any questions, please contact Doug Etgen, Athletic Director, at detgen@cdeducation.org. |
Final Forms

PARENTS OF FALL ATHLETES: time to complete Final Forms!
All forms must be completed and electronically signed before student-athlete can begin practice. Additionally, a current physical must be turned in to head coach or athletic office or already on file. Please remember to add your athlete's fall sport.
All athletes new to Bishop Watterson must have parents register at https://watterson.finalforms.com. All paperwork except for OHSAA Pre-Participation Physical are completed here. Additionally, you will pay your athletic association fee and complete volunteer sign-up here.
All returning athletes must go onto https://watterson.finalforms.com and add sports for this year and re-sign all paperwork forms. All demographic data from last year will still be there.

Seeking Host Families for Italian Visit
We are still seeking a few host families for this year's Italian exchange students. They will be
with us from September 17-27. There is no fee to host and the benefits for your child/children
are immense. The exchange students are approximately 17 years old and are fully chaperoned by teachers from their school. The students speak English well enough that NO Italian is required.
In fact, we are actively seeking non-Italian students to take part in the program. During the exchange, your exchange student will accompany your Bishop Watterson student to school and will either go to school with him/her or go on day trips to various cultural, historical, scientific or governmental sights in Central Ohio. Your BWHS student may go on the trips too if he/she wants. Your only responsibility is to provide a home, transportation to/from school (and occasionally evening activities) and meals, including sack lunches. Finally, should you wish, your BWHS student can return the visit to Italy (ten day) next year - at an approximate cost of around $2,000.00, airfare and all program costs included.
This is a limited access program - the number of students who can participate is limited to the number of exchange students coming. Plus, we only need a few families at this point. So, do not delay! Contact Jim Dury at
jdury@cdeducation.org immediately for more information or to sign up. You won't regret it!
Grazie!
