baseball-glove.jpg Calling all baseball alumni, parents and friends! Join us at the BWHS diamond to cheer on the Eagles as they face Bishop Hartley on Wednesday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. Hot dogs and refreshments will be served.

Alumni Softball Game: May 16

Do you feel nostalgic when you think about your BWHS softball days?

Our annual Bishop Watterson Softball Alumni Day will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Middle School. This is for any former BWHS softball players and their families. We will have a slow pitch softball game, followed by a picnic. If you and your family are able to attend this year, please RSVP by Sunday May 10 to Tracy Cultice at tcultice@cdeducation.org.  If it rains, a picnic will be held at the high school.

BWHS Alumni Volunteer at St. Lawrence Haven

Patti Wilson, Marri McGouldrick' 82 Petrucci, Joe Hill '63, Theresa McEwan '79 Robenalt and Glenn, a friend of St. Lawrence Haven.

March Helpers, front row -- Mike Rea '63, Eleanor Walker, Joe Hill '63; back row -- Terri Kernan, Jill Olding, Patty Wilson (mother of Lindsey '08, Molly '16 and Macy '18), Anne Ralston (mother of Erika '11 and Nik '13), Nancy Ryser (mother of Sarah '00, Maggie '03 and Molly '06) and Colleen Hull (mother of Morgan '16).

We are very thankful to the alumni and friends who have taken time out of their busy schedule to help with this service endeavor.

The Alumni Department provides service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of each month. We prepare and package meals for the daily lunch line. We normally volunteer from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program. The Haven sits behind Holy Family Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300-500 meals are served each day and the staff at St. Lawrence Haven is very appreciative of the assistance we provide.

If you are interested in helping on May 13, or at a future time, please email Terri Kernan at tkernan@cdeducation.org. We would love to have you join us!

Monsignor John Cody Alumni Table Tennis Tourney

Our second annual March Madness Table Tennis Tourney, this year honoring Monsignor John Cody, was a great success!

Fourteen teams competed in a double-elimination Ping-Pong tournament for the coveted trophy. 2009 grads Phil Diaz and Joe DiSalvo ousted the 2014 winners Joe Ryan '87 and Scott Callaghan '91 in the championship game. The "Paddleswingers" duo of Jeff Henderson '95 and Erich Theado '95 received a trophy for best shirts.

In addition to the exciting table tennis tournament, the evening included March Madness basketball games on the big screen, a raffle, pizza and refreshments.

Mr. Reiss has made a great impact not just in the classes he teaches but by creating a culture of recycling within the school community. He has worked tirelessly to reduce the amount of trash and increase the recycling efforts, resulting in greater awareness, change of behavior and positive financial impact.

"We are so happy that Will is being recognized in the community," said Principal Marian Hutson. "His quiet, consistent dedication to caring for the environment God gave us has been an example to our students and staff alike."
