Bishop Watterson High School will host its Eagle Auction on Saturday, October 11, 2014. This annual event is a fun-filled evening of music, dancing, fantastic food, and live and silent auction bidding.

With our theme this year "Field of Dreams," BWHS invites all parents, alumni, friends and supporters to join together for an evening celebrating the Bishop Watterson community. The festivities will again be held in the south addition of Bishop Watterson, located at 99 East Cooke Road, Columbus 43214.

Class of 2001 Alumni Win  Legends Golf Classic

A  beautiful, sunny afternoon at the Golf Club of Dublin was the setting for our annual Legends Golf Classic on September 7th. More than eighty golfers participated in the event that honors the legacies of Bishop Watterson greats Tom Scholl and Ron Shay. The proceeds from this golf outing are used to provide support for a scholarship to BWHS.

The Alumni Department would like to thank all of the Corporate and Tee sponsors, door prize donors, volunteers, and golfers whose contributions made the success of this event possible! 

The group will be honored at halftime of the BWHS vs. Cleveland Benedictine football game at Hagely Field on Friday, September 26. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, followed by a Brunch and Induction Ceremony in Dominican Hall at Bishop Watterson at 1:00 p.m.

This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the  Bishop Watterson vs. St. Francis DeSales football game that resulted in an 8 - 8 tie. This is the only game in the history of this rivalry that resulted in a tie.

Players from both teams will be recognized before the game at Hagely field on October 17th. 

Game time is 7:30.

We Need Your Help!

Looking for Volunteers to help on

October 8th at St. Lawrence Haven

The Alumni Department continues to provide service at St. Lawrence Haven on the second Wednesday of every month. We volunteer from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In September, we prepared and packaged over 300 delicious meals of spaghetti and salad. 

St. Lawrence Haven is the St. Vincent de Paul-run sack lunch program. The Haven sits behind Holy Cross Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. Approximately 300 to 500 meals are served each day. St. Lawrence Haven really appreciates our monthly visits.

National Merit Semifinalists

Congratulations!

Five Bishop Watterson High School seniors have been named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The students are, left to right, seated: Olivia Britt (St. Brendan), Sophia Wible (St. Brigid); standing: Maria Jeric (St. Brigid), Bridget Geyer (St. Brendan), and Gino Dettorre (Our Lady of Peace).

Approximately 16,000 Semifinalists were announced, based upon their scores on the 2013 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). These academically talented seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million that will be offered next spring
