March Madness Table Tennis Tourney

It is not too late to put your doubles team together and join us for our first annual Alumni March Madness Table Tennis Tournament!
If you are not interested in playing table tennis, come along and join us to watch the big games, socialize, and enjoy refreshments. What a great deal for $20!
NCAA Basketball games will be shown on our big screens while our table tennis tournament is going on. Enjoy pizza, soda, and adult refreshments and have the opportunity to visit with friends from the BWHS community.
Cost is $20 per person or $40 for doubles team.

Eagles Advance to the State Championship Game! |
Congratulations to Coach Vince Lombardo and our boys basketball team who have, for the second year in a row, made it to the final D-II state championship game. They will play Norwalk on Saturday, March 22 at 10:30 AM at the Schottenstein Center at OSU. Presale tickets available at school Friday 10:45 AM to 3:30 PM or until sold out. |

Please join us as we gather to celebrate Msgr. Grimes' legacy and raise funds for a scholarship in his name. The evening includes guest speaker Mike Vrabel, linebackers coach for the Houston Texans, a steak dinner, open bar, silent auction and cigars on the patio.

Saturday, June 14th 4:00 to 10:00 p.m.
Plans are underway for our first-ever "Alumni Backyard Shindig." Please join us as we gather on the grounds of Bishop Watterson and kick off the summer. This event is open to all alumni, parents of alumni, future BWHS parents, and friends of the BWHS community. The party will include food, adult beverages, home brews, and live music. Admission is $5.00 and tickets will be sold for food and beverages.

Alumni Speakers discuss Career Opportunities with BWHS Students

Dr. Darryl Willett, Heather Weekley, Amy Price Wittala, and Counselor Charlene Ernst
Alumni took time from their busy schedules to meet with students and discuss the fascinating careers that they have chosen since their days at BWHS. Interested students had the opportunity to listen to professionals speak from a wide range of career paths.
Students gained insight into the responsibilities of the various professions and were given advice on how to prepare for specific careers.
BWHS and the Alumni Department would like to thank the following professionals for taking time out of their schedules to visit and present to students at BWHS.

Alumni Volunteer at St. Lawrence Haven |
Glenn, a friend of SLH joins alumni Marri McGouldrick Petrucci '82, Rita Iannarino Ficheria '63, Mike Rea '62, Joe Hill '63, and Phyllis Cautela '63 to prepare meals at St. Lawrence Haven.
On the morning of March 12th, BWHS alumni used their muscle and culinary skills to prepare over 650 meals for the clients of St. Lawrence Haven which is the St. Vincent DePaul-run sack lunch program. The Alumni Department would like to thank our alumni for donating their time and talents in our effort to provide meals to those in need. The staff at St. Lawrence Haven really appreciates our monthly endeavor.
St. Lawrence Haven sits behind Holy Cross Church at the corner of Rich and Main streets downtown. It is run by St. Vincent dePaul and serves 300 to 500 meals daily.
The Alumni Department takes a group of volunteers to St. Lawrence on the second Wednesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in helping on April 9th, or at a future time, please email Terri Kernan at tkernan@cdeducation.org.

2014 Spring Luncheon and Style Show |

"Painting the Way" was the theme for the 2014 Mothers' Club Spring Luncheon and Style Show held at Villa Milano on March 8th. Nearly 500 guests attended this annual event which featured seniors and their parents as models. Matt Kairis '84 and his daughter Anna, and Jim Melaragno '80 and his daughter Marissa were among the 64 models strutting down the runway. Alum Mary Wilke Jeffries '82, Nancy McEwan, and Terri Kernan served as chairpersons. Mary Jeffries '82, designed and created the spectacular decorations while Marri McGouldrick Petrucci '82 coordinated the fabulous Style Show. President Diana Carilli and Jill Greene chaired the silent auction. Liz Thomas O'Dorisio '87 choreographed the fan favorite boys' segment of the show. Fashions were provided from eight different boutiques and stores around town including Thread in Grandview and Thread in Dublin owned by sisters Miranda McEnery Boyle '91 and Sarah McEnery Guice '92. The Spring Luncheon and Style Show is the Mothers' Club's largest fundraiser of the year.
