BIKE EIBER TO THE ROCKIES GAMES

Preparations and plans are proceeding nicely for the 15 bicycle events for 2013 involving BIKE EIBER's destination cycling Ambassador Tours to Coors Field and the Colorado Rockies. This is a highly personal one-on-one event between me and you.

As I reported in the December BIKE EIBER newsletter, I have purchased two seats each for 15 day games at Coors Field for the 2013 Colorado Rockies baseball season. This effort is part of BIKE EIBER's initiative to encourage Eiber neighbors and Eiber educators to learn and pass along their experience on the use of alternative transportation while enjoying America's favorite past time.

The Action Plan: To acquaint Eiber educators, Eiber neighbors, Lakewood City Council Members and City of Lakewood employees and others to the joys of cycling and using light rail transportation by attending a Rockies Baseball game without the use of the automobile. The Plan utilizes all three of BIKE EIBER's initiatives: Health, Air Quality, and Alternative Transportation (Hmm...maybe we should add a "Happiness Index).

Here's the Deal: You will receive ONE FREE TICKET for the Rockies Game and you will meet Mr. Spriggs at the Garrison Street Station, the Lakewood-Wadsworth Light Rail station, or the parking lot at The Eiber Elementary School. He will teach you how to take your bicycle on a light rail car and what direction to take when you exit at Union Station.  You will then cycle to Coors Field, learn where to park your bicycle, and return via the same method. Your RTD fare both ways and Coors Field attendance is free. (Donations gladly accepted -- perhaps in the form of a hot dog & one beer to help cover cost, but neither is necessary). It is requested that you agree to provide a brief "journal" entry for the BIKE EIBER NEWSLETTER of what you have learned, and fair warning -- a photograph or two may be taken which you will agree to have published

If a person wants their husband/wife/partner/friend to go to the game to occupy the other seat Mr. Spriggs would normally occupy, he will gladly give up his seat but then you must pay your own RTD fares for both of you, and you must pay in advance for one seat tickets at Coors Field (a $26 face value). You will agree that you will be without the benefit of Mr. Spriggs' vast knowledge of how to get to Coors Field via bicycle and light rail, and you must journal your trip (minimum 500 words) and take at least one or two pictures that includes both of you with your bicycles next/near Coors Stadium and give permission to publish your picture and journal of your trip in either THE BACK FENCE or BIKE EIBER newsletters, or both.

**Special Invitation**

If you are an unsuccessful bidder, but you think that this sounds like so much fun that you can't resist, then please feel welcome to ask to tag along on one of the selected dates.  Of course, you will have to pay your own RTD fare and Rockies Ticket and there would be no guarantee that you would sit close by.  If you're curious as to the seat section at Coors Field for this offer, it is Section L329 - Lower Reserved, Infield.

The West Rail Line is set to open April 26, 2013 and bicycle lockers will be available for lease at the following new stations: Decatur-Federal, Sheridan, Lakewood-Wadsworth, Oak, and Jeffco-Golden. You can put your name on the waiting list for a locker at one of these locations by calling the Civic Center Station customer service desk at 303-299-2288. An RTD-issued padlock must be used on these bike lockers. First time renters will need to turn in a lease agreement in person at the Boulder Transit Center, Civic Center Station, or Market Street Station.  Lease agreements are available at each of these customer service locations.
