Trail to Salamanca
"Walking the Trail to Salamanca is an exploration and celebration of wildness and the return of iconic species like wolves, bears and bearded vultures - but it is also an encounter with brave souls fleeing cities and the clutches of rampant materialism to find themselves again in the loving embrace of nature."

Featured WILD10 ambassador
Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner: Honorary President of The Club of Rome

"A sustainable future for humanity is only viable if developed in strict alliance with Nature. The goods Nature provides are those which enable our life, development and wellbeing. Such is the alliance and the future on the important agenda of WILD10. We welcome you!"

Return of Europe's Wildlife!

The Zoological Society of London, Birdlife International, and Rewildling Europe will release their new report on the Comeback of Wildlife in Europe, detailing how 50 years of conservation work in Europe -plus a rising amount of re-wilded land- has set the stage for a remarkable rebound of wildlife across Europe.

The wildlife comeback study will be a landmark report in European conservation history. It will be released at the end of September 2013 at a private seminar in London, then launched and presented to the European Commission at WILD10, during the Global Gathering (plenary sessions) .

WILDshorts is a celebration of wilderness through short films. A one-night film festival taking place October 9, 2013 at the Plaza de Bandos from 8pm - 10:15pm.

The overarching theme of WILDshorts is wilderness and will be interpreted both literally and figuratively in this collection of films - as a connection to wilderness in both mind & body. Stories of adventure, connectivity between people and nature, the beauty of wild places, and the threats facing the last wild places around the world.

WILDshorts is still accepting submissions! Deadline for submission: September 4, 2013.
