Greetings!

2012 was an excellent year for us at The WILD Foundation, and we want to thank you for your tremendous support! WILD is the heart of the global wilderness movement and our conservation successes are possible only with you.

Wilderness is many things to many people. It is home for the wildlife that we love and, in many countries, also home for the indigenous communities from whom we can learn so much. Wilderness is an increasingly rare and special place on our planet, providing special ecological services that support all life and foster human prosperity, health, and sanity.  More than that - if such is possible - wilderness is the actual home in which the human race evolved for countless millennia, so it connects us to who we are, informs us about how life survives and thrives, and inspires us to be responsible stewards of planet Earth.

One thing is very certain.  Wilderness has never been so important as it is today; but it is not as important today as will be tomorrow.

With most sincere thanks,

Vance Martin
President
