Graduation
My niece just graduated from the University of Michigan and my two nephews are graduating from high school. A mother at my church mentioned that her son is having a 5th grade graduation. Some even have pre-school graduations! It is truly a season to celebrate all kinds of accomplishments. Congratulations to all involved. I have gone to my share of graduations, but it seems the school of life continues long after the official ceremonies are done. It is during our life that we get to practice what we have learned in order to get to that ultimate graduation ceremony, when Jesus will say, "well done," (Lk 19:17). So, we keep studying to show ourselves approved, being doers of what we have studied until that final graduation day.
Congratulations.

Restoration Story from Aiea, Oahu Dane Tokushige, pastor of our church plant in Aiea, Oahu called Victory Aiea, recently wrote about two people that were touched through the ministry of his church. He writes: "Halo and Tyra were high school sweethearts. Shortly after high school they got married. As many young couples do, Halo and Tyra struggled to make things work financially. After a few years of being married, their marriage faced it's biggest challenge, infidelity. The broken trust and hurt weighed down on the marriage. Though they tried to work things out, the situation proved challenging. In the midst of this challenge, God blessed them as they got pregnant, but the marriage still struggled. With a baby six months away and Halo and Tyra living in separate homes, the couple was desperate. The couple began to realize the weight of sin. They began to realize their sin and the affects of living in a sinful fallen world. One of Victory Aiea's pastors knew Halo from high school. Halo reached out through Facebook to talk about where his life was. Halo and Tyra began to separately hang out with some of the members of the church. The gospel began to transform their lives and they eventually moved back in with each other. While they continued to face challenges, they also continued to allow the gospel to sanctify their lives. Today Tyra and Halo have two beautiful children and are expecting a third. Tyra is working on an education degree and currently oversees the kids' ministry for Victory Aiea. Halo is an iron worker doing an excellent job in leading and providing for his family. He also desires to some day serve the church as an elder." Thanks for supporting PCN. Through your partnership, we are able support churches like Victory Aiea which are drawing people closer to Jesus!

Beach Baptisms in Oahu
Pastor Sean Palmer, our PCN church planter in Oahu, shared this report. "We recently held a baptism on Sunday morning, May 3rd. Some of our church gathered together at Kailua Beach Park, with several of our church's community groups represented. To kick off our morning, we had "Uncle Roger" pray for us - Uncle Roger was baptized at our last baptism and has come to Christ through Tradewinds Church. We spent a little time talking about God's covenant family together and we prayed over the four people getting baptized. Two of the people being baptized were a married couple who have come to Christ over the last two years through our church. I was able to officiate their wedding last summer (with a number of people from our church also involved in the wedding) and here a year later, baptize both Josh and his wife, KC, as believers in Jesus! We had a great time in the water talking through God's faithfulness in both their lives. There were tears, laughing and a lot of joy! I also had the joy of baptizing my oldest son, Kana, who is growing in his faith. He was so excited to proclaim his faith in Christ by getting baptized. We praise God for His continued faithfulness!"

Man Camp
This year we will be doing something a little different for our men. Instead of a retreat, we are calling it Man Camp. Instead of one main speaker, we are having many great communicators like Thien Doan, Rick Koole, Mike Brown, Brian Howard, Jim Smith and more. Our theme is Priorities. Same place, same great atmosphere at Pine Summit in Big Bear Lake, and same good food! Plan now to join us on October 2-4!!

It's time to start signing up for this year's Pacific Church Network retreats. These are quality events that bring people into the presence of God with possible life changing results. Please promote these retreats and plan to bring a group from your church.

Church Plants Since 2012
Because we believe that church planting is one of the best ways to renew the existing churches of a city, as well as the best single way to grow the whole Body of Christ in a city, Pacific Church Network is committed to vigorously planting churches. Our commitment is to launch a minimum of four new churches annually. We provide funding, training, assessing, and coaching for church planters. We appreciate your financial support!

Exciting Times for Seed Church Pastor Shaun Garman of the PCN church plant, Seed Church in Ventura, is busy painting the new modern facility they recently rented. The new building can hold 200 people, which will be needed for their growing church. Seed's community groups are hosting neighborhood parties to connect with others. They also had an exciting beach baptism where they baptized eight people, one a spontaneous baptism - the sister of someone in the church. They also have entered into relationship with two ministry teams to reach people in Laos and Basque Country (Spain). This summer they are doing two short-term mission trips, one to Romania and another to NYC. Pastor Shaun and a group from Seed are also looking forward to attending the PCN Men's Retreat (Man Camp) again this year.

 RECON Memorial at Pendleton
By Chaplain Jon Uyboco
Jon Uyboco is one of our many CB Chaplains serving around the world. Recently he wrote, "over 200 Vietnam Veterans gathered at Camp Pendleton to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the involvement of Reconnaissance Marines in Vietnam. It was a bittersweet time for many of these men as they were able to reconnect with old friends, but were also reminded of their brothers-in-arms who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
One of the highlights of the reunion was a Memorial Service that was held for all Reconnaissance Marines who have been Killed In Action since the Vietnam Conflict. It was a moving ceremony that focused on honoring the memory and sacrifice of these great men.
As the chaplain of this service, I was humbled to be in the company of so many heroes. As I was shaking hands with people following the service, nearly everyone commented on how meaningful it was for them to set aside some time to remember their friends. I pray that they found comfort in this remembrance and that the Lord used that time for His purposes in each of their lives.
The service ended with these words, "May we take heart in these solemn moments, for each of us will one day be brought to the grave. May our trust be in Him who said, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.'"
Thanks for your support of Pacific Church Network which enables us to support our CB Chaplaincy ministry around the world.

 "Well Worth the Time"
Over 50 church leaders gathered on Tuesday, May 12 at San Antonio Heights Community Church in Upland for Pacific Church Network's workshop on "Reaching Your City." The presenter was Pastor Tom Mercer, author of the book "8-15" and pastor of High Desert Church, a 12,000-weekend-attendance church in Victorville, CA. Comments were, "I can use this to grow the kingdom of God, "very useful," and "very worth my time." Some of Pastor Tom's PowerPoint can be found on our facebook page.
Pacific Church Network will continue to have free workshops throughout the year to strengthen church leaders.
