Happy Easter
There is nothing better than Easter. Without it we don't have eternal life, hope of a better future, supernatural help from the Holy Spirit throughout our journey through life, a loving relationship with God, our sins forgiven, a connection with other believers, etc.... It's a fantastic story. Jesus rose from the dead. It also has an earthquake, other formerly dead people resurrected and walking around, and tough soldiers who fainted. A wonderful day for gathering together and celebrating. I love hearing what is planned in many of our churches. So make one last check as you get your church ready--website, signs, bathrooms, weeds. Share the gospel, but speak in terms people will understand. Remember Jesus. It's all about Him. His resurrection is the first half of the Easter story. The promised and guaranteed hope for the future resurrection of all believers is the second half. Make it a day of worship. Remember to celebrate. This is a day of victory and triumph. It kinda deserves a smile.
Happy Easter

Seed Church Plant Moving to Larger Location
Shaun Garman, pastor of Seed Church, is grateful to report that Seed has found a new location for their church. They are scheduled to be completely in their new location by May 1. Seed Church will still be located in Ventura, but they will be renting their own facility. It is close to the freeway with lots of kids' space, 4 clean bathrooms, office space, multi-purpose rooms, storage, room for mid week activities and more. They are grateful for this new space and the amazing leaders that have helped in many areas. Pacific Church Network has also contributed a small amount to help in the moving costs. Congratulations to SEED!

Soma Church Plant Practicing Generosity
Soma Church in Santa Clarita is growing in generosity. The church recently experienced a great time of celebration. Pastor Sam Ticas preached on Acts chapter 4:32-37 about giving generously so that no one in the church is in need. The congregation had prepared a check to give a widow and her teenage daughter who have been coming to the church. They had raised $4,080 to meet this family's needs. " There were many tears of joy to see the provision of our Father for his children. The teenage girl recently came to Christ. And her mother is coming to faith as well. It's exciting to see Jesus at work in their lives through us."

One Sunday they had 40, the next Sunday they had 150 people! Our revitalized church in Burbank, now called Cross of Christ Church, will officially welcome Mike Brown as their new pastor on Easter. However, the first Sunday he started preaching, they had over 100 guests as two churches became one. They now have an instant need for nursery space, children's ministries and other new outreaches. Cross of Christ Church is one of our new church plants. Although the church building has been around for years, the church now has new life and vitality. Keep them in prayer as they strive to reach the Burbank area with the gospel.

Every day of the work week is pretty miserable if you're driving in L.A. According to a newly released data from GPS maker TomTom, Los Angeles ranked No. 10 for most congested cites in world last year. The company found that a 30-minute commute in the evening took 54 minutes because of congestion, for a total of 92 hours of extra driving annually.
But Angelenos should consider themselves lucky they're not in Istanbul or Mexico City. TomTom's annual Traffic Index explores traffic congestion in over 200 cities around the world and ranks a total of 146 cities. The data revealed that the average commuter last year traveled an extra 100 hours during the evening rush hour alone.
Here's TomTom's top ten:

Stormy Retreat in Hawaii
Even in Hawaii, the weather is not always perfect. In February, our PCN church in Honolulu, International Baptist Church, held their annual family camp at a beach on the island. During the retreat, they experienced 60 mph winds and pounding surf--all but two tents were shredded, including the huge tent used for meals and meetings. Many headed home, but a few braved the storm. When the skies cleared, many returned to worship together on the beach. They also had the opportunity to witness the baptism of two young men. IBC is increasing in attendance, training the leaders and reaching out into the community.

Coming to Christ in Vista
Emmanuel Baptist Church of Vista is undergoing a "replant" at this time. Basically, they believe it's time for the caterpillar to become the butterfly. With the retirement of the Senior Pastor, George Hreha, into the position of Pastor Emeritus, they have brought on two co-pastors, Johnnie Achord (Pastor of Administration and Assimilation) and Clifford Claypool (Pastor of Outreach and Spiritual Formation). The largest percentage of people within a mile radius of the church are second generation Hispanic families. As the church prepares for a June launch, the Lord is already sending families their way before they even have an opportunity to advertise. Eighteen men, women and children have surrendered their lives to Christ in the last month alone. The congregation size has grown from 35 to 70 weekly. When they launch, the church will be reaching out into the community via classes and training opportunities (tutoring, martial arts, music, drama, sports, domestic courses, seminary level classes, etc.). Please pray as they seek a part-time worship pastor and youth pastor with a passion for multicultural ministry.

Online Giving is More Common
Here are a few Did You Know's concerning church offerings (courtesy of Mike Holmes of Tithe(H)acker:
- DYK? 10 - 25% of the average congregation tithe.
- DYK? Those who tithe give 50 - 80% of a church's funding. (This is known as the Pareto principle.)
- DYK? Of churches with an attendance over a thousand, 78% accept donations online, 36% accept donations via mobile phone, and 18% have giving kiosks onsite.
- DYK? The average online donation is $120. The average plate donation is $80.
- DYK? A rapidly decreasing percentage of people carry cash or use checks.
Here's a straight-up fact: We are quickly moving towards a cashless economy. If your ministry continues to depend on the offering plate (cash or checks) as your sole source of funding, you will be way behind the giving curve. Mike Holmes says, "The numbers don't lie: digital giving is outpacing offline giving. Those who embrace this will be light years ahead of their traditional counterparts."
