The Cuyahoga County Real Estate Taxes are currently open and certified with the bills in the mail. For any current deal in Cuyahoga County all first half 2013 taxes will need to be paid in full or the funds for said payment will need to be paid out of escrow. Should a seller or borrower state that they have paid their tax bill, NorthStar will still need confirmation from the County. Unfortunately, the county may be behind in noting the payment. If we need to close the transaction, then NorthStar will need proof that the taxes have been paid, which would include a receipt from the county. If the seller or borrower does not have proof of payment, NorthStar will need to hold the amount of the tax bill and will release said funds upon confirmation from the county that the taxes have been paid. The same process will apply to all of the other counties in Ohio as their open and certified dates draw near.

Last day to pay taxes in Cuyahoga County is Thursday, January 23, 2014.
