Young Professionals: What's meaningful to you?
Something we hear over and over again is how difficult it can be to make connections in a new community, especially a small one. When you move to a place where everyone already seems to know everyone, it can be challenging to find a way to get involved and fit in. One of our goals is to help people make connections, and we facilitate a group that does just that specifically for young professionals called Grinnell Connect.
Grinnell Connect is looking to revamp in the coming year to better serve the needs of our community's young professionals. If you fall into this category, what would you like to see the group doing? How can we support you? What would you participate in? Please, hit reply to this email and let us know your ideas. As we look to improve Grinnell Connect in the coming year, we really want to know how the group can be meaningful to you.
Last year, the Grinnell Connect group decided to take on a project that would add entertainment value to the community at a time when there isn't as much happening. They hosted the Grinnell Fright Hike and about 400 people participated. The Fright Hike is back this year, taking place next Friday, October 30 at Arbor Lake in Grinnell from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. It's going to be spooky and so fun. We hope you'll come participate in the event. Tickets are $10 and proceeds will help fund future Grinnell Connect projects.
