What it's all about
With summer events nearly behind us, we are busy in our office working on a new member drive. If you've ever wondered about joining the Chamber of Commerce, we would love to have you join our team. A 'team', you ask? Well yes, we are a team and a fairly large one at that. 300 businesses are members and we are always looking to grow that team even larger. We work together to make Grinnell a great place to live, work and play.
Our Chamber of Commerce works in three areas: 1. Business Support - increasing awareness of Grinnell's businesses and organizations both locally and to the outside world. We organize local spending and awareness campaigns and events such as Jingle Bell Holiday and Small Business Saturday, networking opportunities, and business awareness and collaborative marketing through our e-newsletter, social media, website, and more. 2. Community Vitality - calling attention to Grinnell's assets, attracting visitors and enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We do this in a variety of ways, including organizing several quality of life events and initiatives such as Friday Fest, Grinnell Games, Grinnell on the Fourth celebrations, destination marketing and community branding projects, and tourism activities. 3. Community Development - supporting the greater good to help grow our local economy. This work is never-ending and includes efforts with new business development and assistance, population growth and workforce advocacy. Additionally, we can help your business or organization with things like marketing assistance, publicity efforts, business to business connections, and business development plans. Would you consider joining our team? We would love to have you. Let me know if you would like more information on a membership. We're excited to continue growing Grinnell together! ~Rachael Kinnick, Chamber Director
