How did this happen? It's already July 17! Summer is slipping away so quickly. What is your favorite thing to do during the summer months in Grinnell? Head over to our Facebook discussion and tell us about your favorites. Is it swimming at the aquatic center, licking a cold ice cream cone, attending the county fair or a community festival, or biking through town with your kids? Whatever your favorite activity is, let us know. We're compiling a list of summer activities to add to the visitor section of our website, and visitors love hearing recommendations from locals.

IMAGINE GRINNELL is collaborating with Ideal Energy to offer solar energy options and to provide discounts through a solar group buy program until August 28. This partnership allows community members to instal solar at a competitive price point, through a volume discount program. Coupled with time-sensitive federal and state taxes, solar has never been more affordable.
DIVORCECARE SUPPORT GROUP is starting up on July 19th and will meet every other week from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The group meets at First Friends Church in Grinnell.
FREE BREAKFAST & LUNCH FOR CHILDREN. Grinnell-Newburg Community School District will be providing free breakfast and lunch to children ages 1-18 during the summer. The meals will be served at the Grinnell High School cafeteria, Monday through Friday from June 4 to August 7. Breakfast will be from 8:15 to 8:45 am and lunch will be from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. Free lunch will also be served at Arbor Apartments on Fridays from June 12-August 7 (weather permitting) for their "In Your Neighborhood" program. Drake Community Library will be at Arbors from 11 am to 2 pm and lunch will be from 12-12:30pm. There are no income requirements or registration.
