 Two Weeks
Wow! I'm not sure where the time went but Grinnell Games is now only two weeks away! Above is a photo of the Rivera family from Williamsburg. They competed in the Amazing Chase during last year's Grinnell Games and they are signed up to do the event again this year. When registering, Philip told me his kids think they are big celebrities because we've used their photo in some of our promotions this year. We're told they are plotting a pirate team theme this time around!
This year's Grinnell Games includes more fun for young children in addition to the Amazing Chase. Your kids will also love the free Lil' Warrior Run, a free Kids Bike Race, and inflatables/activities in Central Park.
What I enjoy most about the Grinnell Games is watching families being active together and cheering each other on. Each year, we celebrate many first-time 5K's, see kids and parents running races side-by-side, and smile as even the smallest kiddos stand on the sidelines waving signs and cheering their family on to the finish line. It's moments like those that make Grinnell Games a special weekend to be a part of.
The weekend begins on Friday, June 12, with the Twilight Trail Run at Krumm Nature Preserve. This event takes place at sunset and is a beautiful way to kick off the weekend.
And, last but not least, is the Warrior Run on Sunday, June 14. This event is always a blast! Full of mud and obstacles, it's a great challenge. But know that if you're nervous, it's okay! We only monitor the runners in the lead to be sure they complete each obstacle. Everyone else can tackle what they wish.
If you have not yet signed up for an event, we encourage you to do so!
