The end of sweater season

Celebrate the end of sweater season by getting out of the house and shopping in Grinnell next Thursday evening (March 26) during the Spring Fling shopping event. Many retailers will be open late with added activities planned for shoppers from 5 to 8pm.

Those who make a purchase at a participating business during the Spring Fling event will be entered into a drawing for gift baskets (valued at $100 each) filled with items from a variety of participating stores.

The Easter Bunny will be available for photos with children from 5 to 8pm at the Masonic Temple, 928 Main St. There will also be activities for kids in many stores during the evening.

Participating businesses include Bikes to You, Beckman Gallery II, Bill's Jewelry, Brown's Shoe Fit, Gamers, Giggles & Bows Children's Boutique, Gosselink's Gifts & Interiors, Loralei's Gift Shoppe, Memories Maid, Paul's ACE Hardware, Sports Page Sporting Goods, Starnes TV & Appliance and Stepping Stones Christian Bookstore. Businesses will be offering kid activities, games, giveaways, treats, and other special promotions in their stores during the evening.

We're very excited to support many of our retail businesses who are collaborating on some new promotions like the Spring Fling this year. They have a Retail Therapy Night planned for April 23 that will be geared toward adults, so stay tuned for more details on that event.

We hope you'll get out and visit these stores next Thursday night. They're staying open late just for you, so be sure you stop by if you like seeing stores staying open later in the evenings.
