As I'm wrapping up the work day, and I find myself sitting here at my desk just wishing I had a chef at home that was whipping up something splendid. Wouldn't that be awesome?
And now I'm reminding myself that I am actually surrounded by a few dozen teams of people who are prepped and ready to cook up my favorite foods tonight. All I have to do is finish up this email to you, and then I'm off to find dinner at a Grinnell restaurant. Hmm, which one will it be tonight? Decisions, decisions. (Editor's note: This post made me even more hungry. Before I finished writing, I had an order called in to Pagliai's.)
People sometimes laugh at me when they ask me what there is to do in Grinnell and one of the first things out of my mouth is "try out our awesome restaurants". But hey, who doesn't love food? Our community is really blessed to have 30+ restaurants to choose from. So many options for a small community!
When you travel to a new city, what do you usually remember? Sure, there may have been a museum or show that you enjoyed. But you probably also remember a restaurant you went to, maybe because the food knocked your socks off or maybe because it had a cool vibe. Every visitor has to eat multiple times per day, and dining creates an experience that touches on all five senses. So, thank you to all of the Grinnell restaurants that provide memorable experiences to our visitors and to hungry residents like me.
I was going to ask you to email me your favorite meals from your restaurants, but instead I'll ask you to please leave a quick review about that restaurant either on their Facebook page, Trip Advisor, Urbanspoon, Foursquare (or whatever else you use!).
