Small businesses are like snowflakes...each one is unique.

We want to thank all of our small businesses for calling Grinnell their 'home'. Without each and every one of them, we wouldn't have a very exciting community. Each small business is unique and brings its own energy and flair to our community. With the holiday shopping season now upon us, please make a conscious effort to shop Grinnell. Small Business Saturday is only a few days away, and is a wonderful day to celebrate all that we love about our small businesses. Take some time this weekend to stop by your favorite Grinnell businesses and thank them for being here.

Many Grinnell retailers are participating in a new punch card shopping promotion that is going on now through December 24. Collect punches for every $10 you spend at participating retailers. Fill a card and get entered into our weekly drawings for $50 Grinnell Bucks. The cards are valid through Dec. 24, giving you plenty of time to fill up multiple cards while
shopping local. You can pick up punch cards at retailers or at our office.

With the snow falling today, you can also get in the ice skating mood! We set up the skating rink in Central Park earlier this week and are now just patiently waiting for it to freeze. It looks like it will be warmer this weekend, so it may be next week before the ice is frozen all the way through and ready for skaters. You can rent skates at Bikes to You. We will post ice rink updates on our facebook page.

We could really use some extra hands with the rink. Please sign up for a volunteer shift. We're looking for volunteers who are willing to sign up to maintain the rink for one week at a time this winter. You, along with a partner, will be responsible for clearing any snow that falls during your week. So it's a gamble! Sign up for the week you think will get the least snow and we'll see who the winner is. Sign up online here.

Happy Thanksgiving!
~Angela, Emily & Rachael

The Chamber Ambassadors hosted a ribbon cutting with Ward Cleaning Services and Tastefully Simple by Mindy Ward. If you have a house or office that needs cleaned, Ward Cleaning Services is here to help! Have them clean your home before you have company over for your next holiday gathering.
