Four awards for Grinnell

We are so thrilled that Grinnell received four out of twelve awards given to rural communities during the 2014 Iowa Tourism Conference in Council Bluffs last week.

Our organization won the Outstanding Social Media Execution award as well as the Outstanding Event award for Grinnell Games. The ice skating rink won Outstanding Collaboration and Prairie Canary received the Outstanding Dining Experience award. In addition to four first places for Grinnell, Monte Fest placed second in the New Event category.

We are just tickled pink to be recognized by our peers across the state for the tourism work happening here in Grinnell. Things like this keep people across Iowa asking 'what's happening in Grinnell?'. Our city has it going on! (click for full list of awards)

KCCI was in Grinnell yesterday afternoon shooting a story on Grinnell Regional Medical that aired last night. The story is about GRMC being the first hospital in Iowa to use robots to clean and contaminate rooms. The full story hasn't been posted on their website yet, but click here for the story preview.  While they were hear, they also interviewed Angela about Grinnell for their weekly Explore Iowa segment. That will air at 5:15 and 8:15 this Saturday morning.

P.S. The Fright Hike was a blast last weekend! Tonight is the final night from 8 to 11pm at Arbor Lake. Go check it out.

The Chamber Ambassadors did a ribbon cutting earlier this week with Pro-Line Building Company out of New Sharon, who joined the Grinnell Chamber earlier this year. Welcome!
