Homecoming & Halloween
null
It is Homecoming Week here in Grinnell! Our office has been a flurry of people signing up entries for tonight's parade, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The parade loops around downtown, followed by a pep rally in Central Park and the Dollars For Scholars "Dogs For Scholars" fundraiser. Homecoming parade day is always a really fun time to be in downtown Grinnell. I enjoy seeing all the Tiger pride as everyone gets decked out in their orange and black. It's so neat to see our downtown packed with people every year. The parade will go on rain or shine (unless we experience server weather). See you downtown tonight!

You are one of the first to hear about the new Halloween event coming to Grinnell, the Grinnell Fright Hike! I am really excited about this event, which we are planning in conjunction with the Grinnell Connect young professionals group. The Fright Hike will take place on Friday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 31, from 8 to 11 p.m. both nights.

The Fright Hike is a one-mile haunted hike around the trail at Arbor Lake here in Grinnell. Instead of walking through a haunted house, you will be walking the dark path and encountering all sorts of creepy and frightening things along the way. Guaranteed to give you spine-tingling chills. Admission to the event will be $10 and it is recommended for teenagers and adults. Start planning your costume and get ready to be spooked!
