Pumped
I am pumped about Iowa Valley Grinnell's new degree program in Culinary Arts. This program follows the American Culinary Federation standards. The same ones that Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis and France use. This follows the apprenticeship model where your education comes with a full time paid job!

There are still a few spaces available but you need to call Mary Anne right away to get a spot. I wish I could sign up!!  World class culinary training right here in Grinnell. MaryAnne's email address is  maryanne.nickle@iavalley.edu and her phone number is 641-236-0513.

We are so lucky to have a community college in Grinnell.  Having both a 4 year and 2 year institution is remarkable in a town our size. So much talk in the media about not enough skilled workforce to fill jobs. Iowa Valley is fighting that fight, working towards not having a jobs-workforce imbalance here.

Lots of events this weekend. The big car show is Saturday in Central Park and PALS live music festival is also Saturday out at the fairgrounds. Grinnell College new students move in today.  You'll see them out tonight running the streets in an Amazing Chase event of their very own.

More next week on commercial investment in Grinnell.

The Chamber Ambassadors welcomed Dr. Jennifer Rayburn at Healing Hands Chiropractic this week. Her kids even got in on the fun of the giant scissors. She opened her own office earlier this summer and we're glad she chose Grinnell. She is located in the strip mall across from HyVee.
