Turn up the volume
We are busy at the office gearing up for summer events and are looking forward to some awesome live music all summer long. Standing Hampton will turn up the volume at the June 6 Friday Fest. Grinnell's very own Whiplash will perform on Saturday, July 5, and Decoy plays at the August 1 Friday FestMusic in the Park begins May 29 and is in Central Park every Thursday evening through August 7. Admission is free to all Friday Fest and Music in the Park concerts!
 
Also, be sure to sign up for a Grinnell Games event soon (June 13-15)! Everyone who registers by May 15 gets an awesome Asics technical shirt free with their entry. Events include a warrior run, 5k, half marathon, 10k trail run, amazing chase, and bike criterium. New events this year are 3 on 3 basketball and a dodgeball tournament.

There is also a free country concert in Montezuma on June 21 at Monte Fest. Country music star Phil Vassar and X Factor season 2 winner Tate Stevens will perform concerts along with local bands Cardinal Sound and Cody Hicks Band.

Monte Fest concerts are completely free of charge. There will be a fee for wristbands for the carnival and kids activities. Monte Fest is presented by Brownells and the event doubles as Brownells' 75th birthday party (happy birthday!).

GRINNELL UNITED WAY FUNDRAISING GOAL MET. This year the group raised $130,000 to support local programs.
