There is a new event coming to Central Park next month! Called Snowpalooza, it is an afternoon of festivities designed to get us all outdoors and enjoying the Iowa winter.

The catch with Snowpalooza is that the date is a mystery. It is a spontaneous celebration. We plan on it taking place sometime in February, a day when we have snow on the ground and hopefully positive temperatures. We will announce the date of Snowpalooza through our social media channels and this email.

Thank you to Grinnell College Office of Community Enhancement & Engagement for sponsoring this new event! Because of their support, it is completely free and open to people of all ages. We have some fun activities planned including ice skating, snowman contests, broom ball, snow art and other games. We'll also have s'mores and hot chocolate available. And there will be prizes!

This is the time of year where we all hibernate and dream of sunshine, but let's not forget about the beauty of winter. Stay tuned for more details on Snowpalooza and hints about it on Facebook and Twitter. We will be posting a "guess the date" contest on Facebook next week. Guess the correct date and you just might win a nifty prize!
-Emily

P.S. If you are sick of hibernating, how about a night of dueling pianos? There's still time to purchase your tickets to our Feb. 7 dueling piano event. The event is open to the public and dress is casual.
