Ditch The Mall
Let's all ditch the mall and shop small this weekend. Your support of businesses here in Grinnell can really make an impact. If you are a big Black Friday shopper, take a look at what our retailers here are offering before you head out of town. Many of them have promotions running all weekend and I have seen ads for some fantastic deals on neat gifts. Celebrate Small Business Saturday by making Grinnell's registers ring. Many small businesses rely on these weeks leading up to the holidays for a huge portion of their annual sales, so help them out so we make sure they can afford to stay in business for another year. Let's see if we can bump Grinnell's 2013 per capita retail sales up closer to Decorah and Carroll.

Have a fabulous Thanksgiving! We are so thankful to all of you for supporting the Grinnell community, and a special thanks to all of our small business owners for everything they do.

P.S. If you have any questions for us about the initiatives the Chamber is working on or are just interested in getting the inside scoop on all the things happening, we invite you to the Chamber Forum next Tuesday at 9:30am. This is open to anyone interested, and we look forward to hearing your questions and feedback.
