Held in advance of the UN's World Water Day, the workshop and roundtable discussion provided a timely opportunity to discuss the issues and to formulate responses to the government's

Experiences of Law in Contemporary Russia

Analysis of popular attitudes to law and repression of economic crime

Experiences of Law in Contemporary Russia
In the wake of renewed speculation regarding the rule of law in today's Russia raised by the death of Boris Berezovsky, we publish a report to identify the actual experience of ordinary Russians using the legal system.

Drawing on recent extensive studies, socio-legal scholars and political scientists assess the increasing use of the courts in Russia and evolving popular attitudes towards the law.

The repression of economic crime and associated power strategies are also explored, providing key insights into the complex and changing legal landscape of contemporary Russia.
