Telemundo Washington DC Wins Nine Emmy Awards
 

WASHINGTON, June 27, 2016  ZGS Communications is proud to announce that WZDC Telemundo Washington DC's local news broadcast, Telenoticias Washington, was honored with nine Emmys at the 58th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Emmy Awards Gala on June 25.  The local chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' event recognizes excellence in television production in a variety of categories of the television industry including news and documentary shows, sports and entertainment programming, and craft categories.

The Emmy wins reinforce Telemundo Washington DC's commitment to providing viewers with relevant and local news and information. "This is a historic moment for the station. Telenoticias Washington is demonstrating leadership in news, and these awards are proof of our commitment to excellence," commented Maria Rozman, Telemundo Washington DC's News Director.

Station Manager Nicole Quiroga added, "We are humbled by this honor and believe it comes as a result of our unwavering commitment to serve our viewers, our community, and our sponsors."

In addition, Telemundo Washington DC was the only station to show year-to-year overall growth in the nation's capital (M-S 7a-1a), while audiences declined on the ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, Univision and MyNetworkTV stations according to Nielsen's May 2016 survey. Contributing to this growth were a +21% audience increase over May '15 in Adults 18-49 and +35% increase in Women 18-49.
