Eduardo's Corner

So, did everyone enjoy their summer?  The past few months have included so many projects, initiatives, station activities - and of course, successes!

Congratulations to stations hosting La Feria de la Familia®.  We've had record crowds, impressive participation from top-notch Telemundo celebrities, featured performers with worldwide acclaim and provided a wealth of important information and resources to our communities. Our local teams continue to find innovative ways to increase attendance and earn rave reviews. Our La Feria season has been packed with well-attended and excellently-produced events that have had fantastic impact in the communities we serve.

Elections this year offer other key community opportunities, including our recent broadcast of the Spanish-language Florida gubernatorial candidates' debate, and the Vota Por Tu Futuro campaign. Our teams have registered voters, raised awareness, kept viewers informed, and motivated the electorate.  I encourage everyone to continue their efforts in the Vota campaign. There are just a few more weeks to Get Out the Vote - every vote counts!

And congratulations to the WRMD Tampa team on the highly successful September launch of their newscast, Telenoticias Tampa,  at 6pm and 11pm. So much hard work from the entire staff resulted in an engaging and thriving broadcast that continues to grow. Felicitaciones, Team Tampa!

We are at our most successful when we think outside the box to achieve our goals and our successes should empower us to continue doing so.  Creativity and flexibility are particularly important as our industry continues changing. Let's work together to accomplish our goals, provide results and finish the year strong. I'm proud to call you colleagues. Let's make one final push - together!

Un gran abrazo y saludos a todos.

ZGS Stations Rally Citizens to Participate in the Electoral Process

As a part of ZGS's continued commitment to empowering the communities we serve, the Vota por tu Futuro initiative launched last spring and is currently in full swing. The initiative is an informative and educational public awareness campaign that encourages voter registration and participation in the Hispanic community.  From El Paso, where KTDO alongside the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) canvassed local neighborhoods encouraging viewers to register to vote, to Florida where in a partnership with WSCV Miami, a gubernatorial debate was broadcast in Spanish, ZGS stations are actively encouraging viewers to participate in the democratic process and get out the vote.
