Record-Breaking Crowds Attend Telemundo Tampa's La Feria de la Familia

Sunday's event included a star-studded lineup and a wide array of family activities, with Telemundo Tampa celebrating its most successful La Feria to date


Tampa, FL - Telemundo Tampa packed the Florida State Fairgrounds this past Sunday, October 6, for the station's 9th annual La Feria de la Familia.  The grassroots family event, held during Hispanic Heritage month, attracted a record-breaking crowd of over 18,000 attendees with participation from Tampa's top businesses, organizations and community groups.  La Feria included a first-time, special guest appearance by Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who kicked-off the event with a ribbon cutting ceremony.   


Families lined-up well before the doors officially opened at noon to meet Telemundo personalities, enjoy live entertainment, and to take advantage of all the information and activities offered.  Dra. Ana María Polo, from Telemundo's popular court TV show Caso Cerrado,received a resounding welcome and drew large crowds, appearing alongside Raengel Solís and Francisco Flores, hosts of the station's local program holaciudad teve!.


Highlights of the event included the Kid's Stage with interactive activities and performances by Radio Disney, the Glaser Children's Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry as well as the DominoUSA Tournament. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders also made an appearance.


Alanis Sophia Gonzalez and Angela Rodriguez, finalists from Telemundo's recent smash hit La Voz Kids, performed at the event and were extremely popular.  Local musical talent included A Son de Plena and Sol Caribe.  The day concluded with the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Angel & Khriz, and an amazing performance by major recording artist Tito Rojas "El Gallo Salsero."
