Medical Messages: Information You Can Use!
National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is pleased to announce the launch of its "Medical Messages" series for patient education, a new service of NBCA's Medical and Scientific Advisory Board (MASAB). NBCA kicks off its "Medical Messages" series with the first article authored by Jack Ansell, MD, MACP titled

In the article Dr. Ansell points to the importance of patient self-testing (PST) at home as something that has shown to greatly improve the outcomes of warfarin therapy. Additionally, he provides further information about the four major benefits of PST; how physicians determine which patients would be eligible for it, as well as potential barriers to PST.
NBCA is delighted to provide this monthly patient education feature written by a different member of NBCA's MASAB. MASAB members
are internationally recognized experts on diagnosis and successful treatment of blood clots, clotting disorders and clot-provoked strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation. Medical Messages articles are designed to provide relevant and timely educational information to patients and their families.
