"Thank you so much. My kids and I can't stop smiling. What a tremendous stress relief. We are truly grateful. Thank God. Thank you." - U.S. Army Iraq War Veteran
While Wars End, Veteran Hardships Do Not
We are again off to a solid start in 2014 because many of you responded generously to our year-end appeal. Last year Rebuild Hope assisted hundreds of disabled veterans, spouses and children nationwide. We turned lights and heat back on, prevented imminent evictions, referred family members to mental health professionals, repaired vehicles so veterans could work and keep critical medical appointments, helped families develop realistic budgets, and provided extensive counseling. Generous donors and enthusiastic volunteers made this possible, and our work and need for your support continues.
For more than ten years the U.S. has engaged in ground combat operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and thousands of servicemen and women have returned home with severe physical injuries and posttraumatic stress disorders. While, thankfully, one war is over and another is winding down, a huge need for our services remains. Disabled veterans still wait a year or more for the start of their disability income, and many families are impoverished with no savings to deal with emergencies. With the help of fellow Americans Rebuild Hope continues to expand our services and assist even greater numbers of disabled veterans and families.
Wars end but the struggles of our disabled veterans do not. Let's not forget them. They will need our support for years to come.
Warmest regards,
