MEET THE MEMBERS

Meet Cheryl "Ro" Baker, member of Saint Peter's since 1984 .

Ro says, "I first was attracted to Saint Peter's by Jazz Vespers.  I started coming on Sundays at 5 and got to know John Garcia Gensel.  He suggested that I become more involved and invited me to come at 11AM, which I did.  I joined the congregation soon after.  Becoming involved at Saint Peter's is one of the best decisions I've ever made!  I love this congregation and hope to be an active member for a long time to come!"

Ro has been a long-time member of the choir, a breakfast program volunteer, a member of the Chapel Restoration committee, and she is the co-chair of Visible Witness. She has served on many other committees in the past and most Sundays you can find Ro up front serving as a liturgical assistant.  A long-time computer professional, she enjoys camping,  photography, bird watching, and all types of music and dance.   An avid Mets and Downton Abby fan, Ro enjoys reading biographies, and mystery novels.  She lives with her spouse and son in Brooklyn.

Want to be featured in Meet the Members? Please send your name, picture, Saint Peter's involvement, and some fun facts about you to Jennifer at [email protected] and we'll include it in an upcoming edition!  No matter how young or old, individual or family - we want to meet you!

SERVE ON THE PARISH COUNCIL

Are you, or someone you know at Saint Peter's, interested in serving on the Parish Council?

Each summer, the Nominating Committee works to secure the names of congregational members interested in serving as a member of the Parish Council, usually for a full three year term.  The Committee then emails a questionnaire to each person, and sets a time, usually in early September, for interviews.  Please contact any member of the Committee with suggested names, including your own!  They are Jack Anderson; Gloria Biegler; Dorothy Goldman; John Mostenan; and Watson Bosler, chair

JOIN THE COMMUNITY LIFE COMMITTEE

The Congregational Life Committee is welcoming new members this year!

We are a group dedicated to creating and enhancing fellowship opportunities outside of the worship experience.  Our committee meets several times throughout the year to organize both small and large group events such as book discussions, movie viewings, museum outings, walking and tasting tours, the Hanging of the Greens party, artist's talks, Carnival!, and much more with the goal of bringing friendship, community and fellowship to members of all the congregations at Saint Peter's Church.

There will be an open meeting of our committee on Sunday, September 21st at 1:15 PM in the Plaza Room for everyone who is interested. Please stop in and share your thoughts and ideas for activities/events, - any level of contribution is welcome.  Contact chair Tracy Christensen anytime with your questions: [email protected].  We look forward to new faces and new ideas!
