Dear Faithful People of Saint Peter's:

 

Wartburg will bless and dedicate its newest state-of-the-industry Adult Day Care and Rehabilitation building on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m.  Bishop Rimbo will preside and I will preach.  The bus leaves Saint Peter's at 9:30 a.m.!

 


This Sunday, November 10, is Martin Luther's 530th birthday.  We will not be celebrating that.  We will be celebrating the presence of the crucified and risen Christ among us on the 25th Sunday after Pentecost.

  • At the 8:45 a.m. Mass, Pastor Stahler will preside and preach.
  • At the 10:00 a.m. Forum , Vicar Carol Schneider will give us a chance to "Meet the Vicar."
  • At the 11:00 a.m. mass, I will preside, Pastor Stahler will preach and preside at the baptism of Henry Drew Topalian and Arabella Druce Topalian.
  • Brunch will be provided by Maria Del Toro and Stan Rustin.
  • SUNDAY SCHOOL resumes at 12:30 in the Plaza Room.
  • At the 1:30 p.m. misa, Pastor Fabian Arias will preside and preach.
  • Also at 1:30 p.m. , there will be a gallery talk by Sarah Nunsberg in and about the Chapel of the Good Shepherd and its Louise Nevelson sculptures.
  • At 5:00 p.m. Jazz Vespers, I will preside and Vicar Carol Schneider will preach.

Next Sunday, November 17, is the Twenty-Sixth (the next to the last) Sunday after Pentecost.
  • At the 8:45 a.m. Mass, Pastor Stahler will preside and preach.
  • At the 10:00 a.m. Forum , James Sadler will present "Christian Unity through Meditative Practice."
  • At the 11:00 a.m. mass, I will preside, Pastor Stahler will preach, and we will install our new Parish Council and Parish Officers.
  • Brunch will be provided by Kit Kreilick and Friends.
  • At the 1:30 p.m. misa, Pastor Fabian Arias will preside and preach.
  • At 5:00 p.m. Jazz Liturgy with anointing for healing, Vicar Carol Schneider will preside and preach.

Wednesday Evening Study Series 2013-14

The second section of our 2013-2014 Wednesday Study, "Torah:  Not Just the Law (Understanding the Pentateuch: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Number and Deuteronomy),"  takes place at 7:00 p.m. each Wednesday through November 20, 2013.

We need plastic containers and plastic bags.  Please bring them to the church anytime.

 

Over  5,973 guests have been served in 2013.

 

7,957 guests were served in 2012; 7,643 guests in 2011.

 

To volunteer, come to the front desk between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday mornings. 
Pastor Derr hopes to return to serve at the Breakfast Program again around Thanksgiving.
