The Rogue Wave wrap pattern is a free-range mix of garter stitch and the long drop wave stitch. Trimmed with a picot edging, the project is fun and relaxing.

Mix the yarns up any way you wish. Add your favorite stitch in between the drops--this is your life, your wrap! How much can we really plan in advance, anyway? Life is full of rogue waves. We need to ride them as Phoebe did, rather than flounder in the undertow.

I am having the yarns specially dyed from Handmaiden/Fleece Artist yarns and hope to assess the interest according to the advanced orders placed. The kit features 6 silk or silk blend yarns in the colors of the original shown:

100 yards Sea Silk (mix of silk & Secell) in a variegated color called 'Nova Scotia'
100 yards Sea Silk in deep green
100 yards Swiss Mountain Mulberry Tussah in deep blue
100 yards Swiss Mountain Mulberry Tussah in variegated blues and greens
100 yards Silken in lime green
100 yards Silken in variegated turquoise/lime green

600+ yards in total. The Rogue Wave wrap takes anywhere from 450 yards to 550, depending on width and length desired.

With yarns the colors of the chill Atlantic, I made long freeform drop stitches across my rows, the yarns suspended in some kind of life-line I wished reality would provide. Something rhythmic in working with fiber always soothed me in some profound way as if my hands reached deep inside the ocean and dropped an anchor of calm.
