Principal's Message
August 17, 2013
Dear Palisades Elementary Parents,
 Heads Up: This Monday Morning, August 19, we will begin with out first morning assembly at 8:05 am at the assembly area on the big yard. Please be prompt! All are encouraged to wear your Pali wear or just blue and white.
 First Week Packets: During the first week of school you received a packet of important letters, forms and information, etc. Please make sure you return all requested items back to your child's teacher by Monday, August 26. Remember various forms are due every year. Please do not discard the forms because you already filled them out last year. LAUSD requires us to have new forms completed each and every year. Please take your time to go over all the items in the packet.
 Remember that on Monday and Tuesday we have Early Dismissals for Kindergarten Students only: All kindergarten classes will be in session from 7:59 am - 11:30 am through August 20.
 Governing Council & Committee Openings: Our various committee meetings are always open to the parents. The first committee meetings will be this Thursday, August 22 at 2:00 pm in order to discuss the goals for this year and to select new members. The first Governing Board Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 12 also at 2:00 pm. During these meetings we will also be welcoming all of the new committee members and all new parents and continuing parents who wish to be involved! Please try to attend and participate.
Back to School Night: This very important event is Thursday,
August 29 from 6:00 pm to 8:15 pm. The schedule is as follows:
Grades K- 2 from 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm
All parents with the principal in the auditorium from
6:45 pm - 7:30 pm
Grades 3 - 5 from 7:30 pm - 8:15 pm
 STAR: STAR Nova 1 class brochure is now available. Online and walk in registration begins Thursday, August 22 at 8:00 am. Online Registration - http://palisades.starinc.org if you don't have an existing account you can create one before registration begins).
Walk in Registration- there will be a box outside of the STAR room. Please include completed paperwork and payment.
