Music Update From Teacher Lawrie

The students were so proud of their accomplishments at the concerts this year! I was very proud of them, too.  We've been celebrating their success with fun music games in class these last few weeks.

In First, Second and Third Grades, the students have told me what songs they want to sing or musical games they want to play that we've learned in class. Then, I write each of those ideas on a piece of paper. I put each piece of paper in a black top hat. Then, I draw the names of the activity out of the hat, one at a time. It's fun to see how many of their ideas we can get to before the end of the year!

International Day

International Day was Thursday. The kids had an amazing day and learned about Kenya, New Zealand, Netherlands, India and Korea. All the kids bonded over fun activities and learned alot. There was Maori dancing, yoga, taekwondo, dike building and traditional kenyan games.

Thanks to all those who helped put on this special day, especially Kari Weaver and Jodi Barbera.
