KIDS and MEDICATION:  As per LAUSD medication policy, students can be assisted to take medication during school hours when there is a written authorization from their health care provider and parent/guardian. Medication is to be supplied by parent or guardian and must be in an appropriately labeled container.  All medication must be stored in a locked cabinet in the office. Students will come to the office to take their medication.

Spring Music Concerts:  Be sure to mark your calendars!  Kindergarten: Tuesday, April 30th, 8:30 - 9:30 am; 1st Grade: Tuesday, April 30th, 10:30 - 11:30 am; 2nd Grade: Wednesday, May 8th, 8:30 - 9:30 am; 3rd Grade: Wednesday, May 8th, 10:30 - 11:30 am.  Auditorium doors open 20 minutes before show time.  This year one pair of front row seats for each show is available to bid on and one pair of front row seats for each show is available by raffle thru the auction.  Bid online at www.paligala.com or look for the raffle table with teacher adventures in front of school.  Support PEP and get the best seats in the house to the best show in town!

 Parent Workshop: The Parent Outreach Committee is pleased to announce a parenting workshop on Monday, March 19th at 8:30 am in the library.  The presentation is called "Parenting in the Digital Age" by Yalda Uhls, Regional Director of Common Sense Media and Researcher at UCLA's Children's Media Center@LA. Youth need guidance more than ever before to learn about the enormous power of this pervasive tool and to use it safely, creatively, thoughtfully and productively.  The talk will explore some of the critical issues facing parents as they guide their children in the digital age. 

STAR Nova 4 Session will begin April 2: Registration information will be available on the STAR website, http://palisades.starinc.org, about 2 weeks prior to start date. Summer Camp brochures and online registration information is available at www.starcamps.org. Sign up by March 15 to receive $30 off per week. Please call with any questions 310-678-9754. 

 Beyond the Bell: Please be aware of that this program is for students in grades second - fifth grade attending our school. Trained staff plans and conducts the program from the end of the "core" school day until 6 pm. The program is permissive where participants arrive and leave at their own discretion after checking in with Coach Michelle. Please note that first graders are not permitted on the yard. If you need after school care for a Kindergarten or first grade student , you must enroll them in a Star program.
