PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents, October 27, 2012
Congratulations Once Again: We are still basking in the glow of the tremendous success of our children's Academic Performance Index (API) score from last year. Our score of 947 makes us a 10/10 school in the state. We couldn't be more proud of our kids as this is the highest score ever achieved in the history of our school!
Halloween Parade: This Wednesday, October 31, all students and teachers will gather with their teachers and classmates for this wonderful annual event. From 8:30 am - 9:30 am all are invited to attend the parade on the playground. Please read the Halloween guidelines sent home to make sure that your children are dressed safely for the day.
Calling All Sweet Tooths: This year our Palisades Elementary children will have the opportunity to donate their extra Halloween candy to those members of our larger community who don't have the chance to celebrate Halloween, by supporting Operation Gratitude. Please deposit your candy into the boxes, which will be at the entry hallway of the school on Thursday and Friday, November 1 and 2. This will be a great opportunity for your child to learn a little more about the gift of sharing.
Pali Magazine & Gift Sale is here: Now until this Friday, November 2, 2012 there are over 1,500 quality products to choose from, including gifts, magazines, and gift-wrapping paper for the holidays and beyond. The selection is great and every product comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. 40-50% of all sales goes directly to PEP and our school. Online Ordering is easy! Go to www.gaschoolstore.com, register with our school store ID 2723195 and shop away. After registering make note of your student's ID so your child will get credit for all purchases made by you and your family and friends. Kids earn prizes for all online sales and a penguin key chain for every three items they sell!!! Thanks for supporting this important fundraiser! Please contact Susan Parlane (susanparlane@gmail.com) or Alissa Bartle (alissa@horizonbuildings.com) with any questions.
Annual School Survey: The Annual School Survey is now online. It will be open until Monday, November 12th. Please take the time to complete this confidential survey, as feedback from all stakeholders is an important part of our governing process. It only takes a minute, so please follow this link to take the survey now! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MMF2KRM
Dr. Barbara Moreno Presents: The third of four Parent Coaching sessions with Marriage and Family Therapist Dr. Barbara Moreno entitled "Bright Start" will be this Monday, October 29 at 8:30 a.m. in the Library. All are welcome to join.
Prepare for 6th grade: On Wednesday, November 7 @ 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Somoza, Principal of Paul Revere Middle School will be here to discuss the Paul Revere Sixth Grade program and to answer questions. This evening program should take about an hour. I encourage all 4th and 5th grade parents and students to attend. If you have particular questions for the Principal or the sixth grade teachers, please send them to Joan Ingle who will pass them on to the Paul Revere staff.
Yours truly,
Joan Ingle, Principal
P.S. Thank you to Teri Lyman for our new directory!

Thought for the week: We need a coat with two pockets. In one pocket there is dust, and in the other pocket there is gold. We need two pockets to to remind us who we are. Parker J. Palmer.
