be the voice of your community

Tempe Community Council (TCC) and the City of Tempe are looking for citizens to engage in a human services grant review process known as "Agency Review."  Citizens from all walks of life, ages and experience are welcome.  As a participant, you will work with your fellow community members to review human service applications and make funding recommendations to the Tempe City Council.  The time commitment includes three to four days from December to February, in addition to individual proposal reading time.
If you are interested in participating in this worthwhile, rewarding, challenging volunteer experience and you live or work in Tempe, please contact TCC Human Services Coordinator, Caterina Mena, at via email.

For nearly 30 years, TCC has managed and administered the allocation of human service dollars by the City of Tempe to local nonprofit human service organizations.  This fair and unbiased process ensures that the community is directly involved in the disbursement of public funds. Agency Review funds come from the City of Tempe General Revenue Fund, Community Development Block Grants and voluntary water utility customer donations through Tempe's Help to Others program.  Total funds allocated are close to $1 million to approximately 35 Valley-wide agencies serving Tempe clients.  Final funding decisions are made by the Tempe City Council.
